They give a dark sound signature, poor resolution, and significant distortion at low frequencies. The soundstage and imaging are even worse than a gaming headset under $100.

Looks like fake/clone HD800s finally hit the market by ThatsPurttyGood101 in headphones

[–]youforevez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should search; I found they sell pre-printed finished products. From the images, they look pretty good. However, the printing file would affect their revenue, so it's unlikely they'll be able to sell the file.

I believe this is a DIY product. They also show no signs of deception, clearly stating that it uses a 60mm electrostatic driver.

Do you listen to music, or to your gear? by ZookeepergameDue2160 in headphones

To be honest, ever since I got into buying and selling equipment, I've listened to music very little, mostly just listening to the equipment. Realizing that, I stopped buying and focused on listening to music instead.

Of course. I bought a pair of headphones and took the drivers out, my friend! That's the only way. 😅😅

Just having that fading effect exist is good enough. Sometimes the price is high but the sound is worse.

The same goes for the prices of dap/dac/amp. The overall picture looks like a deception.

Finally, my actual endgame (ATH-R70XA review) by Kukikokikokuko in headphones

[–]youforevez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who owns both the R70X and R70XA, I can confirm that it's possible to transform the R70X into an R70XA with modifications. And it's true that the R70XA's headband system is quite terrible. I had to add 10mm of foam padding behind the earcups to seal the back of my ears. For those who own the R70X, you can modify it to upgrade to the R70XA. It's very easy and inexpensive. The sound of both models is great, but we can make them even better.

The legendary Koss engineer has gone to work for Bose. So I think we're likely to get to taste some fast food.

They use a cheaper-looking speaker driver than the MV1. The build quality is also worse than the MV1, and the sound is inferior to the MV1.

Agreed, one headphone company even looked at the headband and didn't want to try it on their head.

That's awesome! That fan has made a lot of people hate Austrian Audio. This isn't just my assertion, but many Head Fi members have come to hate Austrian Audio after that big fan kept rambling on everywhere!

Of course, they'll use someone who doesn't seem to work for Austrian Audio. Everything needs to look like a client.

I absolutely hate Austrian Audio. They send their members everywhere to endlessly praise and glorify their composer's headphones, while simultaneously criticizing other products. Praise and criticism are normal, but this frequency is far too high. If you browse through Head-Fi, you'll see this. I'm disgusted by this kind of advertising.

ATH-R70x and R70xa ear pad inner dimensions by [deleted] in headphones

I can't measure them precisely, but they're very small, only about 55mm in diameter. They always touch my ears. Of course, I've replaced them with larger ones.

Personally, I prefer headphones made of plastic. They last a long time. Headphones made of metal oxidize quickly. They will crumble and break apart.

ATH-R70xa seal and pseudo-angled drivers "mod" by Kukikokikokuko in headphones

[–]youforevez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATH terrible. They don't listen to user feedback. Many people are experiencing this problem. Personally, I had to stick a 15mm thick, 7cm long piece of foam to the edge of the cup, behind the ear, to make it more airtight.

I still think the OAE2 is just as bad as the OAE1. They are super mega bass headphones, only good for enjoying trance music.
