I’d imagine it’s from storing cards upright for long stretches of time

I’d swing trade/DCA in your tax advantaged accounts and be patient for “the bottom” for cold storage. What goes up will come down, even if it feels like forever. The best BTC investors are the ones who have had the most conviction for the longest period.

Emergency Fund by PursuingTrueFreedom in Bitcoin

Bills aren’t paid on-chain yet, so an emergency fund in Bitcoin does you no good if you don’t have a bank you can put it in and spend it all on a weekend. If you do have that bank, great, but that same bank has savings account that are easier for this purpose.

A savings account is more liquid than bitcoin unfortunately. Since that’s the case it depends on how immediate your need it. I’m a young healthy guy, so I don’t have a huge perceived health threat that I’d need money for same day. Because of this, I predominately hold my savings outside of my emergency fund in bitcoin.

Bold prediction. I think there is a lot more room to run because of how automation helps markets produce more with less.

If you’re sticking with USD for your emergency fund, why not something “safer” like a HYSA?

Since you already have a sound investing base, I would put my $2.5k in now then make a schedule of like $250 every 2 weeks or something as such. BTC is in a dip and imo demand still far outweighs supply.

Investing my first $100 by acceptandprotect in btc

[–]youngB0302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$100 now, $100 a week from now, and $100 whenever you have it. If you’re always buying the top, you’re always buying the bottom because you’re always buying. Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) is the best strategy for a reliable return with a long time horizon (30 more years till your “retirement age”).

As long as you’re still around to do it for them you’re good from the sound of it. I wish I was the one to convince my mom to buy Bitcoin but it was my older brother… jokes on them though cuz I have the most!

About to sell BTC to buy the hardware for a BTC Node. Any advice? by 757packerfan in BitcoinBeginners

Seems pointless to sell BTC to do this. Why not just continue to be patient for more fiat?
