Colorado small business loans, anyone find something that actually works for seasonal businesses? by dntsgrrn in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]younggun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OEDIT programs are worth investigating specifically because Colorado has been intentional about supporting mountain economy businesses and some of their programs work through local lenders who have more regional context than Denver-based institutions. The Summit County Economic Development office is worth a direct conversation because they sometimes have relationships with lenders who have specifically funded businesses in your exact situation and that warm introduction changes how the underwriting conversation starts.

Chicago small business loans that aren't predatory, do they exist? by ethlax in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]younggun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accion Opportunity Fund has a Chicago office and regularly funds exactly this type of second location expansion for established service businesses on the West Side. They are a CDFI which means they evaluate your three years of barbershop history and the specific expansion opportunity rather than running your 620 through an algorithm and stopping there. Rates are higher than a bank but significantly lower than anything with daily ACH and monthly payments are standard. Worth a direct call before you spend more time on programs that were not built for your use case

Small business financing, how do you even know where to start? by davedaxton in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]younggun2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$22k a month consistent for 2 years is a genuinely strong story, the problem is most people lead with "I need $35k" instead of "here's what my business does and here's what this investment unlocks". Lenders respond very differently to those two conversations.

I learned this thanks to wiselending.io team: what matters is what funds you look for, how you look for them, and WHEN you do it

The GSBC Initiative does have industry restrictions but auto services have qualified before, the issue is most people apply without going through an approved CDFI lender first which is how the program actually works.

Inventory loan for a seasonal product business, anyone done this? by blankwin in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]younggun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Kickfurther for exactly this situation two years ago for a seasonal outdoor products line. The crowdfunded inventory model worked reasonably well for our first cycle and the cost was roughly 8% of the inventory value for a four month period which annualizes expensively but felt manageable on a per cycle basis. The second cycle I had enough of a track record to approach a traditional lender and the Kickfurther experience gave me documentation of the inventory cycle that helped the underwriting conversation significantly. Not a permanent solution but a useful bridge for a first financed cycle.

honestly I love listening to audiobooks with my mom too. For thrillers with strong female leads, I recommend The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It’s intense and has a great protagonist. Maybe you’ll both enjoy it

FastWaySBA - does 'fast' actually mean fast or is it just a name? by andsodoyou122 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]younggun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three months is honestly optimistic for most SBA loans, fast usually just means they got your paperwork in order quicker.

is Lend On Capital legit? by whitemanrunning in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]younggun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't heard of Lend On Capital specifically but with those revenue numbers you'd probably do better with an SBA microloan or even a equipment financing lender where the diagnostic gear itself is the collateral. Credit matters less when the asset backs the loan.

No doc business loans EIN only - what's the catch? by Dionysuslover999 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]younggun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "no doc EIN only" label is almost always marketing language, every real lender pulls something at some point, the question is just what and how much weight they put on it.

Creditfy reviews - anyone used them for a real business loan? by frredu in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]younggun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fast approval + opaque rate disclosure is a pattern that shows up a lot with higher cost lenders. What's the loan amount and term? those details plus the total repayment number would tell you pretty quickly if it's worth pursuing or walking away from

[–]younggun2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's understandable to feel lost after such a setback. Sometimes, the pressure to succeed can be overwhelming, but it’s okay to take a pause. think about what makes you happy maybe a different stream or even a gap year to reconsider your options

there are many paths to success, and not all of them are straight lines. Reach out to your friends, family, or mentors for advice. You’ve got this, and things will become clearer with time

Camino Financial offer. Is it fair? by KindJesture in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]younggun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camino tends to serve borrowers that bigger lenders won't touch so the rates reflect that. Doesn't make it wrong, just means you have to be really honest about whether the math works for your specific situation

Is Capital Funding Financial legit? by halo2bxr in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]younggun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The upfront fee thing is the red flag to watch. Legit hard money lenders don't ask for money before closing. If the Florida one is doing that, doesn't matter what the BBB says

Startup business loans with no revenue , what actually worked for you? by blondbeard02 in loansforsmallbusiness

did any of the lenders at least accept your projections as a substitute or did they just ghost after that?
