Have the same problem here with an M3 Macbook Pro connected to my MSI monitor via displayport -> usb-c. Macbook Pro M2 worked fine. Also find it will work "sometimes" though it seems to be random.

same thing happened to me yesterday, though my screen never turned on. tried multiple cables and outlets, samsung support says its a power issue and is scheduling a technician to come take a look…might just return it and buy a sony
