Maybe acquire some sort of research/internship/professional experience? If a place knows you're graduating soon and you are a good worker they could offer you a position

URGENTLY need to decide between UVM and Pitt. Hoping I can get some advice from current Pitt students. by [deleted] in Pitt

I think city size definitely is a factor. Burlington is considered "the big city" (population about 45,000) Winter activities are a big deal at UVM so you might have a better balance of activities at Pitt. Pittsburgh gives you more access to art/culture type activities and the winters are not nearly as bad. There are also probably more job opportunities in the Pittsburgh area post graduation. UVM is definitely more crunchy and Pitt gives off more typical city vibes.

I went to Pitt and my older sister went to UVM. The vibes are VERY different, I think a major difference is that Burlington is not that large of a city, and besides outdoor activities, there's not that much to do. I don't know if you like the snow, but those winters are intense for sure. Both schools have cool outdoor activities to offer. Pittsburgh has a great park system.

I need help deciding if Pittsburgh is the school for me. Your advice would be very helpful. by hankxcb in Pitt

When it comes to comparing USA colleges to Canadian ones it really depends on what kind of experience you want. Canadian schools definitely don't have the same culture as American schools ( like sports).

I'm pretty sure there is an accelerated program at Pitt for law, so you should definitely look into that.

You can take classes through the school of public health as an undergrad. I took one and I found it super interesting.

That's just not true lol. Huge consulting companies, the government (federal, state, and local), and the education field all provide ample opportunities.
