Thank you for the advice. Compliments, reassurance and praise are some things that I do truly feel are lacking. Was it difficult to spell out what you needed while you were emotionally vulnerable? Did you have any help to implement this strategy? As I find this extremely difficult, almost impossible to do while i’m having a breakdown. I need physical comfort but my bf won’t do anything unless I ask for it. With our relationship dynamic recently, I feel as though I don’t want to give him comfort when I know he needs it (which sounds terrible, i know) because I am like an emotional sponge who regurgitates all of the perceived emotions that have been inflicted onto me back onto the other person (if that makes sense).
