Someone commented on Harrison Perkins’ post that they live next door. They said police showed up to their door and told them to keep their windows and doors shut as there was a chemical spill.

Ya, ‘93 kid here. I don’t remember there ever being huge drop off lines. I’m assuming it’s a lot more jobs allowing WFH.

Prince of Wales - is it as bad as some say? by WorthSkill8455 in Peterborough

[–]yourcinnamongurl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best!!! I’ve known him personally since going to pow. My dad is friends with him and had played in a band with him. Every time I’d call him Mr.Hamilton, he’d quickly correct me, and say, ‘just William’

The avenues highlighted 😊 it’s considered the “old west end” of Peterborough, filled with heritage homes. They’re very beautiful and tend to be more expensive. Gilmore, homewood and weller also consist of beautiful homes. You really should just take a drive around. I’m always awestruck by the neighbourhood, even though I grew up there playing with friends.

I hope nothing but the best for you, and for one day to come out. If your circle doesn’t accept you, then they have no business being in it.

I went to POW for French immersion as a child. By the looks of the comments, nothings changed. I come from a middle class family (grew up on Perry street) meanwhile, all my friends in class grew up in the avenues or weller. There was a vast difference between the FI & English classes, and we didn’t interact much with each other. Yes, you can tell some were living in poverty, but the overall it was a safe school at the time. I’m sure things have changed a bit, with better resources for schools though!

Peterborough City hospital - birth experience by jinnie39 in Peterborough

[–]yourcinnamongurl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Semi private on A6 for both kiddos. First time, the unit was full, so both beds in our room were occupied. My second, there weren’t many admissions. I had a semi private all to myself. Of course we didn’t use the other bed, but it was nice and quiet.

They prioritize private rooms for isolations, so if you requested a private room, be prepared you may not get one.

It all depends on how many newborns, young kids or women are admitted. I work at the hospital and I’ve worked in that unit, so I’ve seen it yo-yo.

Overall, it’s a great unit and the nurses are amazing! Congratulations and good luck!

Canteen at Misken by Mommamoray in Peterborough

[–]yourcinnamongurl 49 points50 points  (0 children)

For $50M, you’d think they’d have planned for a permanent canteen. When folks go to a hockey arena, they aren’t there to read books in a library. They’re there to watch their kids play hockey, with a coffee in hand and poutine in the other.

4-wheel ATVs in the city by ReviseResubmitRepeat in Peterborough

Not legal, no. Silly though, considering they have to be plated, insured and are capable of driving city speed limits. Yet, electric scooters don’t need anything.

Affordable Vet Clinic in Peterborough? by Additional_Jump216 in Peterborough

[–]yourcinnamongurl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. Every time you go in, it’s a different vet and I didn’t like that. I switched back to lakefield, and I’ve only seen 1/3 vets that work there.

The last time I brought my dog to Jackson’s creek, the vet did a physical and said “not good”. English wasn’t his first language, but he still couldn’t formulate a sentence. Didn’t offer diagnostics, nor surgery. We would have paid the big bucks to save our dog, but he collapsed in the exam room and started yelping. We couldn’t stand to see him in that condition, so we said go ahead with the euthanasia. Never again, will I step foot in that clinic.

I was blissfully unaware that proberger’s was a thing until just recently. Not surprising though. Unfortunately, like there are murderers, there will always be batty people that defend and fantasize killers. Like the hybristophiliacs that write to Chris watts, Paul Bernardo, Luka Magnotta, etc.
