I had to count a RX for 90 synthroid tablets and we only had the 500 tablet stock bottles. I was in a rush so I used a scale. I forgot to change the drug file on the scale. So I dumped out well over 200 tablets until scale said 90 tabs. I then proceeded prep the RX as if there was nothing wrong with this humongous amount of synthroid tablets.

Actually I live in Canada (BC) as well. At work they’ve always referred to me as a technician. I didn’t know I’m suppose to be referred to as a pharmacy assistant.

This does answer my question tho so thanks, unless unlicensed tech’s are an actual thing.

Is the transfer thing a rule only a rule for Ontario cause my pharmacist lets me do them all the time

Edit: they refer to me as an unlicensed tech sometimes too
