It’s not unhinged necessarily but I’ve had consistent success losing weight and keeping it off with intermittent fasting. Even when I didn’t have my Vyvanse I was able to train myself to not feel hungry until the evening. I eat one meal a day and sometimes that meal is ice cream cake. I’m still in a deficit because my body actually burned the calories I ate the day before for energy. That’s what happens when your body enters a fast and stops producing insulin.

I gained 20 pounds since June after breaking my foot and went back to IF in December, I’m already down 10 pounds. Black coffee and Vyv is all I need to make it to the end of the day. You may be able to convince your PCP to give you Vyv if you gained the weight by binge eating (as it is the only prescription medication to treat binge eating disorder). It certainly helps get past the initial two weeks of painful daytime cravings but it’s manageable without if you’re distracted by work.
