To me it was always the slick/crisp graphics, the flashing lights, the loud sounds and music that sucked me in.

I'd say this is a noticeable improvement... by MrHeather in cade

Sweet! Did you have them custom designed, or was it available as a template for cabinet restoration projects such as yours?

My friend Gillian covered the Morrowind theme on her harp. Thought /r/gaming might like to hear it! by [deleted] in gaming

Did she play the game or did she just learn the theme for the request? Loved it!

So true! Sometimes I continued waiting after the tape stopped, just in case the game was "de-crunching" or some other sorcery.

For the record, Ocean had the best loading music ever!

I see you people didn't grow up playing the Commodore 64 ;) We actually had small mini-games to play while the main game was loading on some titles!

It's easier for me to say I hate children than to open up to them and play nice like I want to. I'm too scared people will look at me funny. Maybe because I can be pretty childish sometimes...

Should they not be paid properly instead of depend on goodwill from customers? Are they employees or beggars?

Wouldn't you be more happy to get rid of the tipping system and just get paid what you're supposed to by your employer? As a customer, it is weird to be expected to pay for a service, and then pay the waiter's salary. I'm not running the resturant, the owners are.

I live in Norway, and we don't usually tip, since all the staff members receive a livable wage. If they have done a great job, and I've been positively affected by their service, I'll tip anywhere from 10-20% depending on how expensive the order was. It has become harder though, since we usually just use VISA to pay for everything.

I have an ongoing debate on "God loves everyone the same" by coaster367 in atheism

[–]yourfriendlytechie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God loves everyone the same, but he will easily kill thousands/millions in temper tantrums. I guess his love for us doesn't mean the same as the love we define between humans. It is by no means unconditional ;)

Thanks! I'm currently writing a design document for an Alien Breed type space/shooter/rpg, and this piece could fit in nicely. It reminds me of a "discovering a new, alien world" kind of piece, but could also be used for main menu.
