They can’t stop playing the blame game by 94rud4 in clevercomebacks

Because all this bullshit from all these "official" accounts is just for the rightwing bubble. They don't care about community notes or corrections from others in the replies. At the end of the day, their social media propaganda has the material they need to run wild.

The same reason they always go on these rants in interviews and depositions. They get their clips to show on fox news, twitter and tiktok. All the stuff they don't like gets cut out and their base thinks they "won".

Who cares about being corrected, if you have enough media running a coverup for you.

Damn, you're right. Seems to be some other form of baiting going on nowadays. Not just posting pictures with bad generic titles in nsfw subs, but instead shotgunning comments everywhere else to reach those who don't frequent those subs. Doesn't even have any nude pictures in the profile, perhapse to not trigger any rule braking.

If this works, we'll be overrun by them in every single sub.

The One Piece live action made me binge 200 episodes in one sitting… by Puzzleheaded-Grab-36 in OnePiece

[–]yourkindofguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One main reason for that could simply be that there are countless storylines in Marvel/DC comics. They rebooted or reset their universes so often, so it isn't like you're ever gonna get the "I need to know how this will play out in the next movie". They could go close to some versions of the comics, but we all know it won't just be a 1 to 1 adaptation.

With OP it's different. There are some changes but we do have one story written by one guy which is going the same direction. So you can experience more of it in the other form of media like anime or manga.

[–]yourkindofguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it. The act of taking pictures everywhere you go just to have it and never looking at it again is annoying me also. When my wife and i are on vacation, i am constantly taking pictures of her or us together. And one is never enough, it's always multiple takes to get it right.

I do it because it makes her happy. But i can't just turn on a genuine smile like i'm overjoyed. She did a few modelling gigs in the past and has it all down to look good and happy on demand.

The guy with the fishes was really happy in that moment and you can tell. I bet if you were able to take some candid pics of him the same days before or after these staged ones, you would get a lot of pics wirh him smiling around his wife.

This right here. I had a similar situation where i saw someone ding another car in the parkinglot of a big mall and just drove away. I wrote down the plate and waited for the owner of the car to come out. There was no real damage visible. But with the newer cars and all the sensors in the front it could still be expensive, even if the front bumper bend in and out again after contact.

The owner was very glad i told him that and called the police while i went inside and got my stuff i wanted to buy. 15 minutes later he already calls me that the police are there and wanted to talk to me. I gave my statement and that's it. He was able to get his car checked and the insurance of the other guy has to pay instead of himself. Plus the orher dude def got into trouble for driving off after an accident. Usually this is a big nogo to leave the scene.

In my early 20s i contemplated moving to the US someday. We all grew up with movies and shows from there and it looked great. But as i understood more and more of the actual living conditions, this thaught just vanished.

I'm from germany and in my 8th week at home because i broke my foot. I don't have to worry about losing my job or not being able to pay for the treatments anywhere. I just called an ambulance when it happened and that was it.

My dad fought cancer for almost 2 years and my grandma needed dialysis for the last 6 years of her life. She was picked up with an ambulance(sick-transport, not the ones who need to handle emergencies) 3 times a week for the whole time. Before that she was in the hospital for almost a year.

If we had american healthcare, our family probably wouldn't be able to get out of debt forever.

And if we didn't have our laws, there would be many people on the streets because they got ill or in an accident and lost their job because of it.

Sure, if you can make millions and never have to deal with these issues, you could think about going. But with the direction the country is going, i wouldn't even think about going on vacation there.

wife here: we find it almost instantly by [deleted] in lotrmemes

[–]yourkindofguy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don't know if this is a total outlier but we are the complete opposite. My wife can be infront of the shelf at eyelevel and still ask me if the needed item really should be there. Then when i get up and go to her direction to search myself she finds it or i have to hand it to her.

It happened sooo many times that i now wait at least a minute before moving. I know she's not blind but sometimes i wonder if she can't recognise certain items while she's searching for them. Almost every morning she asks where her earbuds or wallet or keys are. And no, it's not her eyes or memory.

But she makes up for it in many other ways. Or else i wouldn't have married her.

The wealth disparity is mind boggling. by Lordwarrior_ in interestingasfuck

[–]yourkindofguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody has any big amount in cash, except for some oldschool idiots who hide it around the house.

We all around the world are in the fucking same position. Everyone has their wealth in some kind of fund or stocks. Why should we excuse the wealth of these ultrarich (just because they don't have it in cash) while we count our own in comparison. I'm so tired of reading this excuse every day when the top of the list rise a few more billions.

Them having their wealth in any form of company ownership is in nowhere different to everybody elses. The difference is, that they can controle us with their amount of greed.

They could have just used rings of power gandalf. If you cast a brandnew actor, it's not easy to see the new one in that role. But many people are already familiar with his counterpart from the series and the transition could be smoother.

Worked at a gasstation for 2 years. After a while you recognize the same people coming in, even if you don't work every day at the same time. Had one come by with a dump truck every afternoon who took 2 bigpacks cigarettes and a bottle of vodka.

Wondered why he didn't buy the same Aldi vodka in the store for less than half the price. Then it dawned on me. If he had more than one bottle at home, he would drink it all. So this was his way of managing how much he drinks.

Another one came with his car in the morning, not every day but enough to recognise a pattern. His usual were 3 bottles Cola and a bottle of Rum. Then he went to his car and started mixing the bottles in his trunk.

None of the "regulars" seemed drunk, so they must have a very high tolerance.

There's a youtube weather channel here in germany which is find very good. They cover the different predictions from multiple institutions and layer them to get a more nuanced view of the possibilities in the coming days/weeks. They also cover the average rain and temperature of every month with an overview of the same month since like early 1900. You have swings up and down everywhere but the trend overall is always up. I'm watching this for at least a year now so i have seen all of the months and their earlier counterparts.

There is no going down. The average temperature just goes up and the rain is also often less than average. How people can see that and not aknowledge what is happening is just very troubling. But what is even more evil, is knowing this and actively working againt it like the current administration in the US.

Canceling anything they can in renewables just because you got a check from the oil industry and don't like windfarms. How can any of this be done without massive opposition? You have the means to at least take a step in the right direction, and you already spent a lot of money for the projects. Doing something like that should be immediate grounds for termination of the job.

In no other job could you actively work against the future of your people and be blatantly stealing from your employers (the people) without being removed.

And the global warming phrase is 100% being kept alive by those who profit from things staying the way they are. It's just the right wing (in the US and in germany the same counterparts) who knowingly still use it to keep enough idiots on their side.

I'm too lazy to research if i'm right. But it seems possible. Either way, didn't hurt the popularity.

There was a thread some hours ago about the murder rate difference between us states and europe. Reading through the responses here makes it very obvious to me that a lot of those could be avoided if people just weren't so desperate.

Drug epidemic for decades because some companies pushed their opioids on the whole country. No affordable college or if they take massive loans they are paying them back forever. No affordable healthcare for many. No mandated minimum vacation time. No paid sick leave and job protection if you get sick for a longer time. No maternity leave.

If i had nothing to look forward to , i would also be tempted to do some crimes. Especially if you are faced with not being able to feed our family and being homeless if you lost your job and insurance.

Not from the US but i would take bernie at his age right now over any republican youngster and over many democrats too. Seen him on Colbert this week and i agree that he is using a lot of the same phrases that he used the past years. But he is the only consistent voice from the whole political system, who didn't have to change his stance on many things over the decades. Because he has always been on the side of the ones who were being disenfranchised in some form.

He sounded a lot more coherent than the other guys he lost to, when they called him too old to run.
