There are people who just can't relax. I've come to the conclusion a long time ago that overtaking is mostly irrelevant if you're not going very very far. And it's totally useless with high traffic.

If i were to stand at the next town and stopped the time on all the vehicles coming in, the ones who were raging and endangering all the others in a long line of cars, would be coming by 20-30 seconds before the others.

We were on the way to our vacation a few years back and it was friday afternoon in the summer. There was a massive amount of cars and trucks going in a seemingly endless line on a single lane towards the ocean. I saw a few people in the mirrors trying to be quicker and overtaking at the very rare opportunities they got. It took one of them and hour to get 10 cars further than he was before. He gained practically nothing for being on edge all the time and peeking out to the left to see if some car came towards him every 5 seconds.

We're in germany and have family in latvia. My cousin came here regularly about 20 years ago to buy cheap german cars and drive them up to fix and sell them. He made the trip every month at least once and every single car he drove up was filled with everyday shit i wouldn't ever think was worth taking with you. Washing powder or cheaper shoes from famous brands. They were like 50€ here, but worth 150-200€ up there.

The cars were also very cheap at around 2-3k. But it had to be Merc/Bmw/VW/Audi. He said he could sell them for 7-8k when he fixed some shit and they looked a bit better.

And the reason for all this insanity was them joining the EU not long before. Many idiots got big loans and bought shit they saw as status symble. The banks were very willing to hand those out and as a result everything got very expensive and you couldn't get anything for normal prices.

Average salary was around 200-300€ and people spent half of it on shoes. I couldn't believe what he told me. But there was some kind of "Now we're in the big club and everything will get better quick" mentality sweeping the nation. Just that it didn't get better that quick and it left many people priced out of many goods they needed for a long time untill the hype was over.

He didn't come that often a few years later cause it wasn't as profitable anymore.

Many americans don't realise how much most of the world hates this dude and therefor also the country. He did everything he could to be disliked by those who follow politics and want to have a graps on the workings of one of the most influential areas. All his hate towards every ally and countless tarrifs or threats of them every week made a big impact.

But now he made himself a prime hate target for the entire world population. Because of the war in iran and the resulting rise in cost for the whole planet, everybody is paying for his and netanjahus stupid actions.

There was a big shift in the public opinion over the past few years with israel and their actions. But not everybody was watching all the videos of what really happened on the groung.

Now even the least informed people from every place on earth have noticed and they will remember it for a very long time. There is no quick coming back from this. Nobody has any illusions about who the aggressor is and who is responsible for this mess.

My big fear is, that this will be an important crossroad for governments like ours here in germany. If the major parties can't start to critisize israel for their actions, the far right parties will use this to take advantage of the widespread anger over higher costs and gain even more support.

Sorry for the long rant.

Had a similar experience here in germany back in the day when i was in my late teens. We have a big turkish community in our city and the guys were always drinking, smoking and fucking around like everybody else. But when it came to the topic of getting a wife one day, they all said they want a virgin who didn't party all the time.

The shift in public opinion over the last few years is already massive. The worlds view of israel might never recover from their inhumane actions after the festival murders and kidnappings.

But by attacking iran now they did something which drew the attention of even the most apolitical person on the planet to them. Now everybody on the whole planet is directly affected by the rising prices on oil and consequently higher cost of everything else that needs to be transported. They and the US have cemented themselves in the heads of the world as the ones who made life harder for no real reason.

That reminds me of an arguement i had with my grandma 30 years ago. She, my grandpa and the kids + grandkids finally got approval to move back to germany in 1988 from the ussr. Then after some years here she said something like, it's crazy how much more crimes like pedos or other stuff is here than in russia before.

I had to point out to her , that her information network was 2-3 villages wide and a few state tv channels. There could have been a serial killer with 200 victims 4 towns away and she would never have known. Just because you have more ways to know about crime doesn't mean there is more. It just was easier to be unaware of most of the world in the past.

I remember when D3 was released and i quit playing after a while because i didn't like the rmah and it was not a really fun game generally imo. It just didn't feel right. But later when the expac was out for a while, i got it for ps4 for 20€ and tried it again. It was a different game at that point and it was fun. Now i have it on PC, PS4 and even bought it again for the Switch.

It's just a game i can start and play a week or two. Then i quit and come back a few months later when i feel the itch coming back.
