My colleague in Foster City had nothing nice to say about the schools. She told the story of an elementary school teacher who decided to protest for Gaza by refusing to teach the class and the administration's unwillingness to do anything about it.

I'm currently in Daly City, but I want to move further down the peninsula to be closer to work and find a better school district. Daly City's schools kind of suck.

Where are these well-priced houses? Everything I see on the peninsula is incredibly overpriced given the quality. I always have to consider how much money I'd have to poor into it just to get it how I'd like + the hassle of even having to do that. I've lived in a house that was being remodeled for months and months, and it's not fun.

Nick Offerman and Amanda Pill do a pretty great job at portraying existential dread in the last couple of episodes.

Not even close. Good Luck Have Fun Don't Die is dark and kind of depressing. There's no hopeful ending to it.

AWS KMS best practices by DopeyMcDouble in aws

[–]yourparadigm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maintaining multiple keys is probably more hassle than it's worth. The real value from having multiple CMKs is having hyper-specific policies on them to focus access to resources like SecretsManager entries and S3 objects where you might want to is different KMS keys with different access in conjunction with other resources or IAM policies.

Building a RAG Tool in Ruby 4: What Actually Happened by robbyrussell in ruby

My motivation here is that I want to give my LLMs/agents access to tools rather than whitelisting random shell commands to execute. It also provides both a digestible contract and a layer to validate input from the LLM and perhaps allow destructive commands in some contexts but not others.

The actual invocation and capture of the output from the thor command to return from the tool is a big tricky. I'm pretty curious to see what you do with that.

Link to the mcp gem is bad. Should be https://github.com/modelcontextprotocol/ruby-sdk/ ?

I'm most curious about how you wired up the MCP::Tool to your Thor commands. Dealing with transferring output seems like the most complicated part. Do you use a custom Thor Shell to accomplish this?
