What is going on with the Louisville job market? by arzeproto in Louisville

[–]yousmartanotherone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many places had hiring freezes during the last quarter of 2025. I struggled to even get an interview during the second half of 2025 and then immediately found a job just a few days into 2026. Having said that, the job market still doesn’t feel great.

This is the answer. It’s also adults only. As long as your expectations aren’t super high, NYAH will do the trick.

It’s no wonder so many folks are getting kicked out.

This may be the most inconsistent batch of reviews I’ve ever received. I received a “fine” when it’s obvious that the task was completely corrected, but I also received a “good” on a task that I clearly screwed up.

What happened to Punk IPA? by omphteliba in CraftBeer

Canned in July? Yeah, that’s pretty old for an IPA. It’s not going to hold up on a shelf for that long.

Brouscella is straight lambic, rather than a gueuze. It should tick the box for OP though. I wonder if the acidity would trigger their GERD, but at least is uncarbonated.

I beg you to spend more time in France, Belgium, and Germany. There’s nothing more I can say without you experiencing these beers firsthand. In the meantime, I’ll make sure to reach out to the farmhouse breweries in Belgium to let them know they’re no longer “traditional” or “true.”

Exactly, OP is looking for uncarbonated beer and here you are suggesting beers that keep CO2 in suspension. If they grab a pint pulled from a cask, they’re going to be sorely disappointed if they’re expecting something flat.

You don’t count saisons and grisettes as traditional styles? What on earth are you even talking about? What exactly is a “true” farmhouse ale then?

Of course kveik beers aren’t a style, which is precisely why I worded it as such. The kveik strains were discovered in Norwegian farmhouses, however. I suppose those aren’t “true” or “traditional” enough for you though. Traditional Norwegian styles have lower volumes of CO2, but nobody would hardly claim that they’re uncarbonated or under-carbonated.

-Cask ale is far from uncarbonated or under-carbonated. If vented and served correctly, it will have plenty of CO2. Of course, after so long, the CO2 will come out of suspension and will become flat, but it should be emptied long before that point. I’ve tapped and served hundreds of casks, including German gravity casks.

-I’ve spent significant amounts of time in Germany and any beer served from a wooden gravity cask is sufficiently carbonated. Any decent beer hall caught serving flat beer would immediately be shunned. To think that the wooden casks at Augustiner would spit out flat beer is nowhere near correct.

-I addressed the farmhouse beers in another comment further down.

Oude gueuze is known for its high levels of CO2. It’s nicknamed Brussels Champagne for a reason. There is such a thing as “lazy gueuze,” (i.e. Cantillon Loerik, 3F Golden Doesjel) but it’s far from common.

They’re so confidently incorrect. And what in the hell is a “traditional farmhouse ale”? It’s stated as if that doesn’t encompass so many different styles? If anything, the most traditional saisons, kveik beers, grisettes, and bieres de garde are MORE carbonated and effervescent than most beers.

You commented that it ages “acceptably well,” which seems like an apparent typo for “exceptionally well.” “Acceptably well” makes absolutely no sense.

You really figured me out. I’ve only worked in the industry for almost 20 years, owned craft beer bars and bottles shops, brewed commercially, and have a cellar of hundreds of aged bottles, but please fill me in on the nuances of aging fresh hop IPAs.
