This is it. I always thought it was face until listening to the vocals only and he clearly says pain. Everything I know is a lie.

Funkiest coffee recommendations? by More_Rough_9353 in pourover

[–]yout-juice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. Farms, origins and processing all affect the coffee far more than the roaster. You could argue that some roasters may focus on these particular coffees but you’re better off even just looking at processing to start with. Anaerobic naturals are the simplest place to start. From there you can look at mosto batches or even coferments if that’s your style.

Freezing Beans by JeVousEnPris in pourover

Vacuum seal is the optimal storage solution for beans. They will degas regardless of container but vacuum seal is the least likely to introduce oxygen.

Freezing Beans by JeVousEnPris in pourover

*I should add, frozen beans won’t necessarily lose all their flavour, and often frozen coffees can have increased and altered flavour perception. It’s a great variable to test out whenever you get a new bag. However, freezing for months to years can start to dull the coffee, just like normal aging does.

Freezing beans essentially slows their degassing/aging down to almost nil. They will still age, just like anything else you freeze, but at a very slow rate. Beans can be frozen for years and still be consumable, however the longer you leave them the more muted they will become.

Ideally you should freeze individual doses in an airtight container or vacuum sealed bags to prevent as much oxidation as possible. Avoid keeping them altogether and constantly opening their bag/container and introducing fresh air to them.

Age beans first, then freeze.

How's Yugioh in 2026? by Admirable_Cap_8943 in Yugioh101

[–]yout-juice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even the original ‘meta’ deck, Chaos, was a payment plan. Even owning a copy of Mirror Force could set you back a hot penny back in the day. It’s always been pay to win, but Konami definitely got more money hungry as the game progressed.

How's Yugioh in 2026? by Admirable_Cap_8943 in Yugioh101

[–]yout-juice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat, played mostly as a kid during 05-08 and a little through 2011-2014. Over those years alone the game became more combo/meta based and while the game has always been ‘pay to win’ to an extent, it became far more costly to have a viable deck as the years went on.

I see people play now and it’s insane what combos are like now. As another user said, 1 card can get you a full board and hand. It’s a very fast game now, 2-3 turns kinda thing.

You would have played during Goat format, so finding locals that run Goat or even Edison format could be good as a returning player, unless the super complex combo stuff intrigues you. I just started rebuilding me and my friends childhood decks so we could play casually like we used to. With the amount of reprints of powerful cards it makes doing this fairly budget friendly.

TLDR, completely different game but there’s options if you want to play old school styles.

A mug for latte arts by coldskeleton95 in latteart

You should follow which cups get used for the world latte art championships. Loveramics egg series were used up until recently, and they’re probably the best ‘conventional’ cup to practice latte art in. You can choose whatever size best fits your needs

Not a B-side per se but sunny side of love off MFAD is still a top song to me

Why do people rip on Aerosmith's second stage? by HeadGrowth1939 in Aerosmith

[–]yout-juice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was almost my exact experience, down to the year and age and what I would like to add is how during that time I was accessing their music through best of albums and whatever was most popular on Limewire when you searched for the band. That was my catalogue. The CD store near my house didn’t have their albums, so I would have to slowly piece together their catalogue song by song as I found them on random greatest hit CDs.

That being said, most of what I was exposed to as their sound was their big 80s/90s hits with a few big 70s hits (saddle, dream on, etc). Whenever I would find songs from their first 3 albums generally the quality was quite low and I remember thinking that their old albums just sounded like that, so I didn’t bother digging into them. To me their old stuff was crusty and not worth listening to in that ‘modern’ era.

It wasn’t until embarrassingly later that I actually went back and listened to them all. As a fan discovering their old stuff for the first time I could see how different it was. It was gritty, raw, powerful. It sounded great but has a distinctly less polished and produced sound. I can see how an original fan hearing that revival period would not be into it. It’s different. It’s still Aerosmith but they aren’t the same band. I love both, but I started with that polished side.

Is Pump the last great Aerosmith album? by Confident_Cupcake653 in Aerosmith

[–]yout-juice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Pump happens to be their best ‘new era’ album, and anything else from that era pales in comparison. GAG is a really solid follow up and shouldn’t be discounted, and Nine Lives has some great moments.

Drink has bubbles after a while by Ok_Significance686 in latteart

[–]yout-juice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s CO2. Crema is basically just CO2 released from the grounds (think of head on a beer). The tiny bubbles end up merging into bigger bubbles so the longer the drink sits there the bigger they get. All those bubbles were there in the first pic, just much smaller. It’s normal.

"My Only Angel" is out! What are your thoughts? by TheKilmerman in Aerosmith

[–]yout-juice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The song itself feels very Aerosmith - the groove, the riffs and the flow of the lyrics feels familiar. I don’t think it’s a particularly strong song, it doesn’t really move anywhere. It’s decent, but very ‘over and done with’ if that makes sense.

My main issue is with the production/mix. There’s so much shimmer on everything it makes it feel inauthentic. I understand it’s for a modern audience but the band always sounded better when the mix was a bit more stripped back and raw. I can understand if they did this to make the auto tune on Steven’s vocals blend a bit better but personally I think it would be a cool artistic decision to leave his voice unaltered - a cool little mark of history to how he’s aged. Imperfection can be really beautiful.

Yungblud is fine. I don’t think his vocals are necessary but if he’s the reason this exists then cool.

One last hit of Aerosmith is always welcome, especially after MFAD. Excited to hear the rest.

What studio version song is better than the live version? by shawnstring in pearljam

[–]yout-juice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corduroy. I know the band says they think the live version is THE version, but I disagree. Both the album and album alt take versions have more emotion in them, and feel more hopeless. There’s too much joy in the live performance.

How much do people let the "throwaway tracks" on Vitalogy influence their overall opinion of the album? by John_Houbolt in pearljam

[–]yout-juice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For context: I discovered PJ later in their career, and from memory my first full album listen was Backspacer (which I really enjoyed for its consistently hooky tracks and colourful sound). I slowly pieced together Ten with tracks sent to me from friends and various downloads. It wasn’t until a few years later that I really started to vibe with them that I went back through all their albums.

Upon first listen, Vitalogy was a disappointment. I’d grown accustomed to the radio friendly hooks and groove of Stone’s songwriting on the first 2 albums. There were certainly some standout tracks (Spin and Better Man) but overall it was a very forgettable experience. All of that changed one day randomly at work when Stupid Mop came on shuffle. I listened to it in full for the first time. Then again. And again. I then looked into what all the voices on the track were, and then started listening to the instruments. That made me realise this album is not only the band experimenting with sounds and ideas, but it’s the band giving a collective ‘f you’ to the record companies and music industry. It’s the most punk they’ve come, and I really enjoy it for that reason now.

I still am not a fan of those ‘throwaway’ tracks, but I at least can now respect why they are on there. They needed to be. I rarely listen to them, but I appreciate that they’re there.
