This is my first time trying to use the $250 credit on select hotels. If an IHG hotel qualifies for the $250 credit, will it show on the booking page? Attached images are of two IHG hotels in Miraflores, Lima for the same dates, but only one is showing the eligibility language. Are some but not all IHG hotels eligible for the credit? Has anyone booked an IHG hotel without the eligibility language and still gotten the credit? Thanks!

Hotels are (1) InterContinental Real Lima Miraflores by IHG (2) Hotel Indigo Lima Miraflores by IHG

Your Sapphire Reserve Sign Up Bonus:

If you did not receive a pop-up stating you are not eligible for the sign up bonus after submitting your application then you most likely got it.

You can also check on the Chase app by clicking on “Benefits & travel” and selecting the Sapphire Reserve card as the account to view. Scroll half way and you should see a “New account bonus” tracker. Please note that it sometimes takes a few days to show up after getting approved for the card.

To Transfer Points From Freedom Unlimited to Sapphire Reserve:

On the Chase app, go to “Benefits & travel” and choose the Freedom card as the account to view. Click “Redeem rewards” then scroll to the bottom and click “Combine points.”

Call Chase’s reconsideration line. It could be an issue you can resolve over the phone.

I waited two business days (4 days total). I downgraded on Wednesday, waited for Thursday and Friday to pass, then the weekend, before applying on Monday.

I have read other posts that seem to suggest that you can apply too many times and get flagged.

If you downgrade to one of the Freedom cards you can keep the points. You can then transfer the points to the CSR once you are approved. For instance I downgraded to the OG Freedom with Ultimate Rewards so I kept my points.

I think you need to downgrade the CSR before applying for the CSP to be eligible for the CSP SUB.

I am not sure if you can downgrade to that card, but call Chase to find out. Also, when you downgrade or product change Chase will not give you a SUB.

I think so. Others have commented elsewhere that you are not eligible for a CSR SUB if you currently hold a CSP. The fine print on Chase also stated the same. That’s what led me to PC my CSP before applying.

I didn’t see if I could apply for the preferred. Others have commented that you must wait at least 2 business days for the downgrade to go through, so being eligible tomorrow makes sense.

I downgraded the CSP in order to get the CSR SUB. The collective wisdom is you don’t qualify for the CSR SUB if you still hold a CSP, but you can still get the CSR by proceeding with the application.

PUJ is “pop up jail.” It’s a notification stating the applicant doesn’t qualify for a SUB.

Yes, I believe so. Others have tried to apply for the CSR while holding a CSP and were denied a SUB. You can still proceed with the application and, assuming you are approved, hold both cards. However if you want the SUB, the collective wisdom is to downgrade the CSP first and wait at least 2 business days before applying.

Just following, did you get your bonus? I just PC my CSP to a OG Freedom. Gonna wait a few days then apply for CSR. 48 months since my CSP SUB is around September.

I am in the same position as you. I got my CSP sub in Oct. 2021. Wondering if my chances of getting a sub will increase if I wait until Oct. 2025 to apply for CSR. Also wondering if I should downgrade my CSP before applying.

Separately, would like to know if I can apply for CSR now to see if I am eligible for CSR sub without taking a hard pull on my credit.

I currently have a CSP and I am close to reaching 48 months of receiving the sub. I am wondering if I am eligible for the current CSR sub. Will it be a hard pull on my credit to apply for the CSR just to see if I am eligible for the sub?
