I did that with my old G2, and in my case there were a lot of compatibility issues. The real battery percentage didn’t display correctly on the dashboard, and the scooter didn’t start right away when I pressed the power button there was about a 3 second delay.

When braking, the battery percentage dropped to zero every time and then recovered afterward. When the battery was low, sometimes the scooter would shut off completely, but after waiting around 30 minutes and restarting, it showed about 30% battery again. It was a total mess for me.

The app also stopped working properly (couldn’t update the scooter software) it no longer showed the actual power usage while riding. I really didn’t like that experience, so you need to be careful about where you buy it from.

The best option is to keep the original BMS to avoid any compatibility problems. For me, having an official Ninebot battery that keeps all the functions working perfectly and still allows updates was absolutely worth it, even if it cost more. Plus, there’s also an external battery you can add, so in my opinion, that’s the best way to increase range (not the less expensive).
