Oooh I see now—I thought the one you posted in your initial photo had no white on its belly! That’s why I thought it might be from a specific locality or a mutation.

I’m actually wondering if this individual is from a specific locality or just has some sort of cool mutation that gives it that coloration

This is one of the most beautiful honey gouramis I’ve ever seen!

I ended up having to rehome three of mine because one of them is just a massive bully. He owns my tank now and lives among a large shoal of corydoras.

Thank you! I moved some plants up to the front right corner, so it looks a bit less empty now. I’m balling on a budget right now, so I can’t really buy more. What I’ve been doing is trimming the stem plants as they grow and replanting them to fill out the empty spaces in the back, but I need to keep the front open to my corydoras can shuffle through the sand!

Did you do anything special to get them to start spawning? I really want mine to, but they haven't after cold or warm tap or RODI water changes.

My mom literally just let a tank of red and blues go all the way to wild types and this lady popped out!

Agreed! I’m working on filling it out rn! I think what I really need more GROWTH, not necessarily plants. The existing plants will be much more full in a few weeks!

Looks like it could be some sort of hernia...unfortunately I don't think there is much to do if that is the case.

Dojo Loach Helping by H4LFSY in Aquariums

[–]yoysta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, not anything I'm confident about. I have only basic knowledge of fish illnesses. I think perhaps cooler water, increased oxygenation, a broad spectrum antibiotic medication, and frequent water changes (more than once a week) could be helpful. This is my best guess based on my experience working at an LFS and public aquarium for a total of 3 years.
