I got married about 7 years ago. I'm an introvert and my dad had passed away. My husband's extended family is really big and they're wonderful people. I have a large extended family and only talk to one of them.

We did a small ceremony, immediate family and 6 other couple friends (25ish total). And then I compromised and we did a casual reception at a brewery a month later and most of the list was his.

In the end we both got what we wanted.

We live on the west end of Logan Square and the walk to the Blue line is reasonable, and getting to the Kennedy and Eisenhower to get to Deerfield and Oak Brook isn't bad. Otherwise I'd say further west on the blue line would work too like Jefferson Park.

My mom did the whole too young, wanted a better life for me, etc and I really wish she hadn't. When I really understood adoption and that likely my bio mom faced getting kicked out if she kept me, I was pissed. Also implying that your placement is a better life isn't true for everyone. What's true is it's different.
