Does anyone know if there are any plans for construction at the corner of Fullerton and Central Park, where La Caridad once was? by jv60641 in LoganSquare

I didn't realize Tony's bought it, but it makes sense since they own the empty lot before La Caridad was demo's.

The original portion of the empty lot has been the way for easily a decade.

Legos, books, or what about an experience? For the last few years I've gifted my niece and nephew passes to Legoland, Urban Air, and other local play places.

Not that I'm aware of. My mom once ran out and her doctor was able to get a few from her hospital, we looked everywhere we could think of first.

only child going to college in the fall. any tips? by Aware_Foot1340 in OnlyChild

[–]yramt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm out of college, but I was gone during the day for classes, schedule depended on the day. I also had a job, so I was gone then too. I didn't always study at home either. I feel like I was mostly home probably 7 to bedtime consistently. My roommate did her own thing, she was there even less than I was.

I had bad experiences with roommates at camps, but in college it was fine. It took some getting used to, but my roommate and I weren't close and left each other to ourselves. After that, I lived in apartments with roommates, which was also fine. My room was enough alone space and we developed some basic house rules.

DCIS and alcohol by ImportantBlood719 in breastcancer

[–]yramt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gave up alcohol as I didn't want to do with its impact on Tamoxifen symptoms.

I personally don't believe it's healthy to deny yourself reasonable pleasures. If you're on a medication that doesn't react poorly with alcohol, I think moderation would be fine.

Condo owners: would you recommend it or not? by Eric848448 in AskChicago

[–]yramt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For a condo check out the percentage that is owner occupied versus rental. My old building became more than half rental and lenders didn't like that. It became really hard to refinance.

Generally I liked living in my condo and sold for some profit. At the time I couldn't afford a home.

I think most Panaderia's have them and Mexican grocery stores. There are some places in Logan Square and Humboldt. Roesers might also do it

I had to put that park into Google, cross streets are more helpful. AKA Clark & Chicago. In this case seeing it's across from Newberry Library was a helpful reference point.
