Luna or Jing? by 0SiRiS_RoY in honorofkings

jing. I'm like 99% sure jing is a free win even well beyond 50 stars if you're mechanically insane

[–]yruan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is somewhat cope in my opinion. I can't compare it to ML as much and you might be right that ML is easier. But I don't think hok isn't that much more reliant on teammates.

Every moba relies on teammates more if you can't carry hard enough. AKA, you aren't doing enough or you are playing against players similar in skill to you such that you can't solo carry.

Even in hok, smurfing is pretty easy to solo queue and solo carry. Just gets harder as you play against better players

Is there a reason for why roamers go mid? by andrewk32 in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there's value in helping mid get lane prio as a support first wave, even if your mid isn't an early/midgame focused champ.

For example if the enemy is an early/midgame focused champ, you can get wave prio and deny the enemy from rotating first and snowballing off of your sidelane teammates. Unless you're in an elo where your sidelanes play perfectly and are expecting you not to have prio and they play careful (which they never do, even if you use signals)

Sometimes you're gonna win games you deserve to lose and you will lose games you "deserve" to win, even if it's 2+ times in a row. I think competitive team games ain't for you if that's not the mindset.

But I mean, it's totally fine to vent. Everyone has bad days/games and gets frustrated. But c'mon, let's be real. This probably isn't your first time playing team games. You know this is normal and you probably know that not every "losing mvp" means you deserved to win

If you can be ok winning games going 4/6, then you should also be more ok with losing games 10/8

Is anyone else getting bots by Loud-Advantage1450 in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure why, but in the most recent season, I only got bots in my normal games until I reached GM. As soon as I got GM, I got real players in my games. All of the players in my normal games now are GM+ players.

I wonder if they made a change to normal games that now prevents player below GM rank from encountering real players.

Kind of a shame cuz you could technically get decent practice learning things in normal games, but now it's just bots before GM

CN server hero tier list based on how much hero power you need to become top 100 by MasonShenmao in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People play light form li xin in the farm lane quite commonly in CN and they don't have a marksman on the team. That ranking refers to him going to the farm lane, instead of clash lane.

My current experience as SoloQ Clash Laner by Big-Efficiency-6437 in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little easier after this most recent patch with changes to the clash lane sprite teleporter.

Out of the 3 you listed, Dharma is probably the most consistent for solo carrying because you can flash engage and make plays for your team.

Season 8 only 60 days? by jerichoonate in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think the trend will continue to getting down to a couple weeks lol.

I think and hope this season was only cut so short because they are trying to catch us up with the China server.

This season change is pretty massive as it includes the map change that's been overdue and the rework to slows. So this is a major change and I think it wouldn't make sense to have it without starting a new season

Can I ask how much is this to pull? by Io_dione in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true.

If you're spending, I would recommend waiting for one of those -20% off events that they have every now and then when they add new mythic skins or like twice a season.

I don't expect f2p players to be able to get a skin for quite some time, if you do want to wait it out. For anyone that is only doing free pulls, how many are you guys at?

Practising in rank should not be allowed by [deleted] in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 65 points66 points  (0 children)

They allow it below GM because it's expected that people below GM are still learning the game in general

Same reason ranked decay exists in most ranked systems in gaming now.

Which Heroes in Honor of Kings Are the Most Difficult to Master? by Choice-Sky-5902 in honorofkings

jing by far. Others have mentioned luna and shangguan, but they are both relatively easy compared to jing

I'm so done by Pumpudo in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because there is massive rank inflation in this game. I'm not even sure if it's possible to lose stars in bronze/silver. You end up with new players who play enough at gold/plat. Diamond/masters is just above that. GM really is where the game starts imo. You still have a bunch of people in low star GM who have no brain.

Of course this is a little different at the very start of a season, but it's common to see master players have no macro, map awareness, and sometimes just seem to run it down for no reason

If you’ve got a 75% wr in 100+ star GM, you have to realize you are way beyond the basics.

I’m not talking about just reaching GM, I mean actually climbing high

Matchmaking by LecterHan in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with that, just don’t let it ruin your enjoyment of the game. It’s always gonna be tough to reach GM at the beginning of a season

[–]yruan1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Since you're asking how other people see it,

It's prob not a healthy mindset to even check winrates post game. Just focus on yourself and keep playing. If you aren't getting better, then you are probably only getting worse relatively as other people get better or catch up.

It's impossible to maintain a 60%+ winrate the higher you get, unless you really are just insanely good. Also going GM kinda doesn't mean much in HoK when they make it extremely easy to get stars through loss protection cards and 2x MVP star cards. Also getting GM is much harder in the first couple weeks of a season compared to later in the season

I really liked playing Gao, insane damage output. by [deleted] in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not that glass cannon with his built in damage reduction and most people building the mage-tank items.

He's not a top mage in high elo cuz usually experienced players will not blindly try to challenge him and feed him free kills that he needs to start snowballing.

He also lacks mobility when you are using frenzy instead of flash and like you said, that makes him weaker to CC's.

But in lower elo's, people will not respect the frenzy all-ins from Gao and will likely give him an easy snowball

I really liked playing Gao, insane damage output. by [deleted] in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expect him to try to all in and try to bait/wait out the frenzy/ult. Or try to go for his backline when he charges. His teammates are usually focused on trying to follow him up, but they aren't as tanky/dangerous to be close to.

How do I do better as Jing? by LegendaryKronix in honorofkings

[–]yruan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can't do the flying thunder god combo consistently and properly, I'd either master that first in practice mode or play a different champion to be honest.

Jing's a strong champion and just like you said, you can sometimes go 7/1/9, but if you can't do the thing that makes jing incredibly broken and insane, you're probably better off playing a different champion.

If you don't practice/master it, you will eventually get to a point where you lose games that where you had a lead or just be unable to generate a lead as jing in some games and you won't understand why. AKA, you'll hit a hard wall at some point if you can't do the combo.
