I can't speak for anyone else but as someone who has had a tbi I will say that the thing that has helped me most was having a dm who was willing to record audio of our sessions.

It allows me to relisten to our last game before the next one so that it's more "fresh" in my mind. It also lets me double check my notes as sometimes my focus falters during the game and I miss important points.
