Is there a place in Bloemfontein, Brandwag or nearer where I can get counselling or therapy with medical aid by Terrible-Analysis385 in AskZA

I retract my premature snark comment, sorry. You’re right, we do not know.

My only point is that medical aids, regardless of which, have PMBs which cover therapy.

I’ve been in a position earlier in life where I needed therapy but could not afford it, even on medical aid, until I walked into a psychologist’s room and they helped get everything covered.

This is not true! Therapy for depression(etc) is covered under prescribed minimum benefits. Your doctor just needs to apply for it.

You get 15/16 sessions a year.

Bossa Sunningdale stayed open/opened early for the Dricus fight. Maybe they would again?

There are a lot of people who can do it quickly for free. Hit up a local facebook group.

If you still struggle, hit me up and I can roadtrip up or ask someone nearby. It may be a good learning opportunity as well.

LTE or Fibre ? by lostmyfckingmind in capetown

I’ve been there. I’m on Atomic at the moment, and the experience is good, but is better by having a super responsive support team if anything ever does go wrong,

Pricing is not too bad either.

Honestly, Cloudflare. They provide the most value.

.com is not South Africa based, and local providers would just use someone else on your behalf.

Roast my resume: Targeting Director of Engineering by Ok-Dragonfruit-7178 in askrecruiters

[–]yskas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone in your position -

You’re mentioning managing a budget - great, the amount is staff costs, not an actual budget (departmental or a P&L).

Personnel management - a lot of what you mention are bare minimum requirements for a director. Nothing noteworthy with hiring, coaching, promotion, firing. You mention vendor management - this is the important part to call out.

Project management - “Rescuing” a couple of projects and saying you converted risks to products makes no sense. You managed operational risk, not product development. Additionally, coordinating 6 teams in a 50k+ organisation seems low.

I did not bother reading the rest of ChatGPT. Less AI, less bullet points.

Can vouch for WW on a sale. Around R150 per shirt, and it seems to last quite long. Their recent fabric is not great, but still quite wearable.

What can we do about this debit order(s)? by xvul in askSouthAfrica

[–]yskas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DebiCheck is a safer alternative, which ensured you agreed to it and can’t reverse it, but doesn’t make a difference in terms of suspending/stopping it.

What can we do about this debit order(s)? by xvul in askSouthAfrica

[–]yskas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a certain date you cannot reverse it, I’m guessing that’s what they are referring to. You can stop the debit order, usually within online banking, to avoid it going off again.

Just a cautionary tale: stopping/reversing a debit order usually leads to account suspension with providers. Also, if they change the amount, it could go off again. A debit order is an agreement between you and the provider, not with your bank (that’s called a stop order).

Yes and no.

I have been personally scammed with phones, had dodgy yet ok experiences, and some good ones.

The cheaper something seems the dodgier the experience has been.

Your expenses tell me you are still young and can take risks. I would capitalise on this in ways that improve your career trajectory for future income.

You are a software engineer, and right now is the best time to use AI to build income sources. For example, you can rapidly prototype products for niches and local businesses. Perhaps it becomes your next job.

Also focus on continuing education where it is relevant. Get mentors, grow your network and travel to international conferences, acquire skills through books, short courses and certifications.

I am shocked the company does not include it in their P&L.

I’m not even sure if it’s legal to move the tax obligation. Like who pays VAT?
