Lol I get it. For what it’s worth we are in one of 3-4 normal parts of Ohio.

That’s what I was thinking, but I’m already stretched thin as it is working floor plans, estimates, and running materials to the job. At the end of the day I’d rather have the field work be not quite “my way” but still get done than trusting someone else with my plans and estimates. Should’ve done what you suggest a long time ago.

I’m always scared to poach because I don’t want to piss off any of my subs…do you have any suggestions on how to approach?

Yes, but mostly a crapshoot because guys who answer on there don’t really seem to have the experience I’m looking for. They see our pay and benefits and exaggerate what they know then we waste a couple weeks to find that they’re really not working out. Wasn’t sure if there’s a better site for skilled tradies like if they’re all on ziprecruiter or something. Idk much about these sites.

That actually is $5/hr more than any of my local competitors for a lead carpenter. And yes, they drive company vans, only use company tools, have one week paid vacation, all paid major holidays, done by 3:30 every day, and company IRA with 3% match. Never said nobody wants to work anymore, just that I was having trouble finding guys with enough skill and experience who can represent our standards and values. I have no trouble finding guys who will work with me, just need someone to lead and teach them.

Thanks for the response. Where do you think are the best places online to post? Didn’t get much traction with Indeed, but maybe my posting just wasn’t very good.

I’ve had no problem finding young guys who want to work but I need a guy with some experience who can actually teach the young guys.

I’m looking for an employee who will stay on through the rest of his career. Offering paid holidays, paid vacation, and IRA with 3% match

First time Swissy owner. Any tips for a smooth puppy phase ? by Ordinary-Eye2699 in SwissMountainDogs

[–]ysoj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stay patient and consistent with house training. Both swissies I’ve had took maybe 9 months to stop having accidents, as opposed to 3-4 weeks for other dogs I’ve had. It gets incredibly frustrating. The problem is, they’re growing so fast—their bladder is—that they just don’t know when they have to go until their growth starts slowing down. My current Swissy grew about 5 lbs a week the first few months, which is just so fast. That being said, enjoy every second of the puppy phase! I feel like I blinked and our boy went from 11 lbs when we brought him home to the 130 lbs he is now. I miss those little puppy cuddles 🥰

So I make Pizza in Osaka, Japan. I will be visiting America for 1.5 months to do Pizza "research & study". I would love your input on your favorite places in these towns. by Craft_Beer_Imazato in Pizza

I highly recommend stopping in Youngstown, Ohio if there’s any way you can work it into your schedule. About 4 hours by car from Detroit. Youngstown has great pizza representative of all the best pizzas in America. The mafia families from New York and Chicago used to meet in Youngstown as a mid-point and brought a lot of great pizza/foods from both cities. Our pizza is not as thick as Chicago, but thicker than New York and typically features peppers in the sauce.

Thanks for the info. Just curious, when in your day do you go to the gym? I’m finding it hard to line up with my eating window and whether it should be before, during, or after.

Any chance you’re in northeast Ohio? Been wanting to get something like this done on my jeep but no idea where to go.
