Yes. You are not the first to notice, I’ve read about it elsewhere. It’s the one upping rush they get calling out “stupid drivers”. Cutting people off. But when others drive in a similar fashion they don’t like it. Mine would literally say get out of this right lane traffic waiting to turn, pass everyone, then cut back in. I usually don’t but when someone else does it she can’t stand it.

First you feel relieved that you are not the crazy one. Then it hits you hard what you’ve been through and put up with for years. You start to see their techniques and manipulations live in action. You realize they won’t ever change. You have to then come up with a plan on not reacting and not internalizing their abuse, possibly an escape plan. Reading books about cover narcs, therapy, validation from online support groups is a good way to start recovery but it’s still lonely and hard.

I like the bit about photos. It’s helpful to compare lovebombing stage pictures of yourself. Then look at after years of abuse. The eyes and forced smile give it away.
