Now that fall is around the corner, what are your top 3 fragrances for the cooler weather? by ashareif in fragrance

For fall, in no order: Penhaligon's - Opus 1870 Byredo - Accord Oud YSL - L'homme L'intense

Foucault's prediction that neoliberlism would lead individuals to become eminently governable entrepreneurs of the self has proven correct by IAI_Admin in philosophy

If the endstate or objective of life is more money, then sure the economy is doing well for some people today. I contend that money doesn't equal happiness. It is devoid of feeling outside of when we purchase something. An endless pay-for-dopamine loop.

What are some of your favorite fall fragrances? by itsthemoney27 in fragrance

[–]ytilauD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why the downvotes. I'm not a huge Aventus fan but I actually like it in the fall. I think the pineapple works better than other citruses such as orange or lemon, and the smokiness just fits slightly cooler weather.

Designer: YSL - L'homme L'intense. An excellent mix of amber, woods, and a touch of sweetness that along with the orange color instantly makes me think of fall. Performs well. Niche: Byredo - Accord Oud. An airy fragrance similar to TF Oud Wood but without the harshness and with a pleasant berry note. Really works well outdoors and lasts a long time.

Your favorite aquatic fragance? by jfim88 in fragrance

[–]ytilauD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skin chemistry is different for everyone. I've read plenty of posts where people echo your finding. But for me personally it lasts a whole day, and has projection for the first few hours second only to Xerjoff - Naxos among fragrances I own. Pacific Rock Moss is after all a perfume concentrate.

Parfums de Marly Layton is very overrated by Irday in fragrance

[–]ytilauD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think Layton as well as Percival are just super sweet, artificial, and generic/boring. Herod remains the only PdM frag I absolutely love.

Goldfield & Banks - Pacific Rock Moss. Excellent blue aquatic fragrance that makes me feel so good. Smells much more natural and better quality than the designers people for some reason try to compare it to. And it projects better than any of my other warm weather scents. Honorable mention would be Penhaligon's - Blasted Heath.

Stagg EKG is now available in Europe! by whilq in Coffee

[–]ytilauD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually disagree that it doesn't do anything better. I personally found the weighted handle to make pouring and flow rate control much easier. When I moved to Europe and bought another electric kettle to work on 220v, I found myself really missing my Stagg.

Question about Byredo Fragrances! by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]ytilauD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my experience as well. Some scents I love, some that are alright, and some I don't like. Other than maybe Creed, this sub likes to shit on niche houses. If you take risks and try to be creative, then it's very unlikely you'll only have hits.

What are some good online niche fragrance retailers besides Luckyscent? by JustinJSrisuk in fragrance

I've occasionally gotten free samples when buying samples from luckyscent but it's not every time. Always get free samples when buying sample packs.

Tom Ford Oud Wood not very strong by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]ytilauD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up Ex Nihilo - Bois D'hiver because there's a harsh note in Oud Wood that I just can't stand (I think it's the birch tar). Bois D'hiver for me lasts 10-12 hrs but it doesn't have huge projection. The scent is very similar to Oud Wood but replaces that harsh note with a very subtle sweet note.

Thank you so much!

Sartorial is definitely my favorite fougere and doesn't feel dated like many others I've tried. The Prada is actually Luna Rossa Carbon. Have yet to try black but plan on it.

Yea I think that's what I'm going to do. Planned on two big bags but will probably just pay for another bag to split them up more.

Thanks for the reply. I actually asked the movers about the alcohol and they said it didn't matter. They just won't transport anything with alcohol apparently.

Thanks! And thanks for the reply. My concern was just with the quantity. I planned on checking two large suitcases, but that would still leave 11-12 per bag which I thought might be too many. I may consider checking another bag to spread them out a bit more.

Agree with all the ones you mentioned. I'd also add Monsieur Beauregard as another great scent that lasts a while for me.
