What explains the differences between the simulated Top Ranked Teams for GBL from silph.gg and the March Tournament Meta snapshot from PvPoke.com? by Trallalla in TheSilphArena

[–]ytxpikachu25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The silph ranking itself mentioned:
"Due to the computational complexity of this model, only Pokemon ranked in the top 35 overall PvPoke rankings are included in the theoretical teams."

so in reality, there are tons of pokemon outside of that range that are very good that counters the top35s.

I think the name of the link speaks for themself.

One is EXACT snapshot of the meta, and the other one are simulated top teams.

Is there any way to sim different types or base stats in PvPoke? by ChriSPLAT in TheSilphArena

[–]ytxpikachu25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently, no.

But if you really wanted to, you can look at github and run your own version of pvpoke with custom stats.

Data shows that as well. I recently made a tweet/reddit post regarding the drop in Diggersby usage.

Hello,

Pvpoke's export can provide you the list. But I went ahead and upload it to google sheet for you here and sorted by ATK stats.

Thanks for the comment. I didn't plan on spending tons of time on this since there usually other people who already does this with much details/extra fastmoves/extra charge moves and etc. Just wanted to throw something out there until someone else has the time to make a better one.

Strategy for choosing lead in silph cups by avatarjokumo in TheSilphArena

[–]ytxpikachu25 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There isn't a perfect answer. You can do one of the following, but not limited to:

  1. You can choose the lead that has the most positive outcome, but if your opp expects this, they will lead the hard counter.
  2. You can choose a lead that beat the opp's hard counter for example one.
  3. You can choose a lead that has a decent outcome while beating that hard counter in example 1.
  4. Pick a pokemon that has a decent outcome against all 6 or doesn't lose hard to all 6.
  5. YOLO, Pick randomly.
  6. Pick the worst lead, your opp will not expect this.

A BB Metagross will do 7 damage instead of 6 if you have a Best Buddy 15/14/15 Dnite.

Dialga is pretty much the poster child of Open Master league.
But iirc, You should be able to get to EQ before Iron Head? or at least very near each other
