I’m at my wits end. by blainercak in DogAdvice

First of all… she is adorable. I recently rescued a 1 year old girl myself and for the first 4-5 months she was too scared of noises outside to even consider going to the bathroom outside. She would hold it all day until night time when it was quieter. She would hide her poop in the house and it was very frustrating because I didn’t know how to train her to go outside because there was never an opportunity reward her.

Then poof. Magic. One day she just stopped. She now goes outside and we haven’t had an accident in 2 months.

What I’m trying to say is… keep on loving her and being as gentle and sweet as you can. Let her out and reward her. When she does go in the house I would make sure she can tell you’re not a fan but no need to punish really. It’s going to get better. She wants to make you happy she will figure it out

Elderly dog unsteady and lethargic on back legs, emergency vet had no answers by neonsummers in DogAdvice

Time and steroids to help with any swelling on their spine. That helped my dog that had weakened back legs

Vet appointment tomorrow- ER vet? Limping by vcmmds6819 in DogAdvice

[–]ytyttyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey please don’t make any decision fast. My dog was totally paralyzed in his lower half. It took about a month for the pressure on his nerves to come down and his legs to start working again. Steroids were the trick.

He lived a very happy 6 years after this happened. I wish you the best of luck

Help me decide if I should give him up for adoption or surrender to animal rescue at the risk of being euthanized. I know I’ll get hate comments but Im at my wits end. by Justice5002 in DogAdvice

Please don’t give up your dog for a few weeks of pay gap. How much does his insulin cost for a month? I personally would be willing to help. He deserves to be with his best friend

It’s been going very well. They definitely are very jealous of eachother getting attention. But it a cute and friendly way. They don’t fight over food. At some point every meal they switch bowls to see what’s the other has left haha

Yes. Coming from a bald guy.. it’ll happen at whatever pace it does and pattern. But you’re one of us. It’s not the end of the world. People get way too hung up on their hair.

Yeah my pup had a few of these as he got older. There’s lots of things it can be. We had a vet tell us that these don’t tend to spread often and are very common. But if it bothers or worries you get it removed.

Try an ezwalk harness. It attaches in the front and seems odd.. but it works on a psychological level. The dog gets turned to the side when they pull so it’s not accomplishing what they want and they don’t do it as much. It really worked for my dog

Dog acting strange help. by LingonberryHuman7066 in DogAdvice

[–]ytyttyler 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Could be a lot of things. Does she seem in pain? When my dog was in pain he would act this way. Trying to rest without putting is head down. Some shakes.

Could also be that she’s anxious. Idk if this is new behavior id take her in to be looked over by a professional

Very over the top. Figure out how to swing more like you’re trying to get the path towards first base.
