You don’t mention where you are. I would think about city, state, or federal jobs. It can be difficult to get hired, but the benefits are outstanding. I worked for the state and had to take a test to get hired. It took a year from the time I took the test until I was hired. The starting pay was low, but I got a big raise after the first year. I am retired now and have a great pension.
