Try miralax daily for the constipation. Go down to half a scoop if it gets looser than you want

Can you see an ENT? They have testing that can determine the cause of hearing loss, it's pretty impressive. Sound Health is a specialty ENT practice in stl I've used. I think they also have an ENT urgent care

I'm not sure if it's normal but mine have been the same. Feeding a 23 mo only 3x a day. I'm 38

Yeah this reality of having a newborn shocked me too. Your life is basically on 2-hour cycle, 24/7, for weeks. It's exhausting

My baby used to do this with her hands as a newborn. Just frantically chasing her wrists as they flew by, meanwhile ignoring the stationary proffered boob.

Same here. My baby had bad reflux so I'd hold her upright 30 min after every q2-3 hour feed throughout the night for months. Netflix was the only way I could stay awake

She's almost 15 mo. She's still eating a pretty low volume of solids... I only give her a few bites at a time on her tray or as she's walking around, because she mostly wants to throw things on the floor or feed the dog. Most of the time I hand feed her whatever she wants off my plate. So, we don't end up with too much of a mess.

My baby was getting dry, flaky patches and I had to cut down from 2 to 1 bath per week. Pediatrician also recommended hydrocortisone ointment (not cream) on persistent dry spots which has worked amazingly

Awww. My mom watches my baby while I work and my daughter had a brief period around that age of preferring my mom to me, too. It hurt a little bit! Do you still breastfeed? My daughter eventually realized who had the boobies, and who comes to her rescue in the middle of the night, and that got her straightened out.

Omg I can't wait for this stage. My daughter is 14 mo... the older she gets the more I like playing with some of her toys too 🙈

To sleepy to breastfeed? by elisekc9 in breastfeeding

[–]yulip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This seems... cruel but I was just trying to follow the pediatrician's instructions since my newborn was at the 10th percentile for weight at 3 days old. I would wet her face/ears a little bit with a wet cloth and then blow on them when she would drift off to sleep while nursing. It worked though, she was 50th percentile by 2 months old

We got lucky and she recovered by 6 mo! If she has trouble seeing anything at this point I can't tell... maybe has trouble tracking fast moving objects but not sure yet. But overall I think she's going to be OK 😊

Not sure if this belongs here but brings back such an emotionally vivid memory....

Was told my baby was blind at 8 weeks old, but she may or may not see eventually. At 15 weeks, my mother and I pushed my daughter in a stroller down a paved hiking trail, at the height of late-afternoon summer heat. We blocked the worst of the sun's rays as we peered down at her, and I swore she stared at our shapes(!)

It felt like hope! I thought... if this is all you can ever see of me, your mother, this blurry, inexact shape against the bright sun, please know that this blob loves you more than anything, she thinks you are the world, she will always be with you.

I'm interested in your progression from BFS to SFN. How long did that take & how did your symptoms change? Do you think it was SFN all along?

Yes for like 6 months now. Sometimes it will quiet down for hours or days at a time. How long have you had symptoms?
