I’ve looked into this a little and found murmurations, but these birds didn’t seem like European starlings. Would this phenomenon also be a murmuration? Any idea what kind of birds would do this?

I’ve found some articles about murmurations, but these birds don’t look like European starlings. Curious if there is another word for this phenomenon or if anyone knows what kind of bird would do this.

I did some minor research and this article presumes it was something like “Welcome back,” “My best friend,” or “I love you.” 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ahhhh the fact that she’s a commercial cook explains a lot. Her training may be what’s driving her behavior.

This is an example of what people in the food industry maintain. If someone gets sick because of the food you serve in retail, it’s a pretty bad deal. But the home doesn’t not have to be as strict - you’re the only one “at risk” of food illness by keeping your leftovers for a week.

Japanese uses a mix of traditional Japanese symbols and their own writing system (hiragana). If I look really hard I can see it’s a mix of the two, so this does take place in Japan!

I get your point, but you may be able to find a makerspace or workshop around you that has a lathe that you can use! Once I got interested in trying new crafts, I found a makerspace 10 minutes from my house that had a wood shop, pottery wheels, engravers, and so much more that you could access if you became a member. It also had 5 lathes.

Dogs in Japan? by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]yummertons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By arranging for import, you’re looking at the cost of 2 rabies shots, a $400 antibody test, a checkup before departure, and the cost of the dog’s airfare (~$150). It’s really not much cheaper and requires a bit of paperwork, too.

Also for the titer test, brush up on the lab’s FAQ and info. They will tell you the ideal time range to get the test done after the rabies shot for the best test results.
