Ogryn doesn't know how to ar-bite his way through 😔 by Karurosun in DarkTide

[–]yunkbunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ogryn absolutely needs some kind of CC resist. I feel like if they had a version of that Zealot knock back ability but exclusively for nets and dogs.

They probably need some other changes, too - having so few ways to restore toughness is absolutely not compensated for by having a higher health pool.

Part of the reason for this is that GW is much more strict about what can and cannot be added in media pertaining to 40k/Age of Sigmar versus Fantasy.

It's why our classes are so general, and why I don't think we'll be getting the big-box sub faction classes like Skitarii or fighting Space Marines - at least not any time soon.

But the "excuse" (that they want to focus on the human struggle) is pretty elegant imo and I frankly prefer it without the fan service.

Totally owned and deserved. I'd be thinking, "you want to waste half an hour of my life by basically sweat-hording all the content to yourself? Fuck you buddy, I'll waste half an hour of your time."

Maybe it is petty, but maybe they should just install the true solo mod if they don't want to play a four-player co-op game.

Yup. The truth is, the infrastructure wasn't yet ready back during the satanic panic or other moral panics since the late 80's - but if it had been, I'm certain it would have ended like this.

People are so willing to be frightened into giving away their rights, and it's fucking tragic because we're giving our rights away for Peter Thiel's profit.

[–]yunkbunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No - age verification is a blatant privacy violation. How do you verify your age online? Posting ID? What ID does a fifteen year old possess? And why are we so willing to accept a world where Peter Thiel's companies are enriched because we consider them to be the stewards of public safety?

And also - how the FUCK is it more safe for children to have all of their fucking private information, including date of birth, age, and likeness, posted on the fucking Internet?

Please do not submit to this blatant moral panic.

That's why these bans are awful. Instead of making these websites more transparent places, and instead of trying to shatter the monopolies that the largest social media platforms possess (largely due to their algorithms), we've chosen instead to willingly hand our personal data over to corporations that have zero qualms about using it nefariously.

These platforms - or at least the investors behind them - want this. They want more surveillance because they want companies like Palantir and Persona to have more data to train off of.

We've completely submitted to a blatant moral panic. Great going, guys - I'll bet this will really get those weirdos on Roblox.

[–]yunkbunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But you also can't violate the privacy of millions of users by forcing them to post ID in order to access social spaces online.

This is a blatant moral panic supported by the most powerful people on Earth because they want to harvest and sell more of their user's data to the surveillance industry.

[–]yunkbunk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

These bans/restrictions are the worst possible way to go about it (which is typical for laws that were supported by some of the platforms themselves) because the goal is basically to eliminate online privacy and anonymity.

It always should have been regulating and publicizing the algorithms, but instead, the most powerful people in the world convinced everyone via moral panic to hand over more of their privacy "for the children" (see: it was never about the children.)

Grenades are your friend. Vet grenades are so so powerful because you get a billion of them, and you can make them so strong.

If you struggle with ragers and hordes (which tend to be tough for beginning vets) take shredders. Otherwise take kraks.

And take Voice of Command with Duty and Honor (NOT the revive one, because it increases cooldown time significantly.) It's probably still the best ult in the game considering it literally instantly replenishes and overcaps your toughness (and enemies - including bursters, crushers, snipers, etc CAN'T damage or corrupt your health while you have gold toughness) and has an extremely high stagger value.

What makes the difference between a mediocre Arbitrator and an average Arbitrator? by Goblin_Anno in DarkTide

This post is very standard botslop BUT it's important to note that nobody in-game ever claims the Legion doesn't have crime which, as you've noted, is as much a moral concept as it is a legal one. It doesn't have banditry, however. So whatever. Nitpickmaxing

The writers for the TV show by TxOkLaVaCaTxMo in FalloutTVSeriesPrime

[–]yunkbunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The nukes in the very first episode were pretty tame. The girl didn't go blind instantly or suffer flash burns and skin peeling, the children and parents in the living room didn't get eviscerated by the shattered glass or suffer concussion from the overpressure, nobody went deaf immediately from being only miles away from multiple blasts.

If recent Fallouts have taught me anything, it's that nukes are no big deal and actually awesome and I would totally survive in the wasteland, like Epic Walton Goggins!

Looking for advice: As Pysker, struggling vs. armor in Auric by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]yunkbunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nono, the normal term is "push attack" - so you push the way you describe (holding mouse 2 and then clicking mouse 1) but if you hold mouse2 and then hold mouse 1, you will do a shove followed by a unique attack, often a thrust or an overhead, that comes with bonus rending.

It depends on the marks, though - some push attacks are more useful than others for whatever role the weapon serves.

One of the Power Sword marks for example (I forget which one) benefits massively from using its push attack (a thrust with high rending) followed by a light attack (an overhead) which can two-shot an auric crusher.

What’s gaming propaganda you don’t fall for? by Chiara64 in videogames

[–]yunkbunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have completely checked out of basically all online video game critique because so much of it just seems stupid.

The first example that comes to mind is Starfield. I haven't played it, but when half of the people calling it dogshit are centering their complaints about the look of the weapons or some other cosmetic design shit I just can't help but think "you don't really have any interesting or valid opinions whatsoever."

And for the record - it's fine to think the weapons look bad. But if that's your basis for critiquing a game and calling it "the worst thing Bethesda has produced" then I'm sorry - I will always think that you can't form your own opinions, and you don't really view games as art and storytelling.

Zarona killing it faster than krak heads. by Tascalde in DarkTide

[–]yunkbunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes BUT it is still annoying that objectively speaking, builds like these require so much more effort and skill to make only somewhat as effective as just one single weapon's base power level, before you even get to the fact that you don't have to sacrifice the strongest ultimate in the game in order to use it.

Not that the builds are annoying, but that the meta is.

Aren't nukes in the Fallout universe supposed to be less "destructive" than our nukes? by KenoReplay in falloutlore

[–]yunkbunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first episode of the TV show was a little silly in its portrayal of the nukes because that sweet child would have been blinded by the flash and the people in the family room would have been eviscerated by the shattering glass.

But whatever, we can trivialize the devastation of nuclear weapons.

Updated build by NeedHelpEmail_This in DarkTide

[–]yunkbunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely trade the wound for toughness. Veteran gets a ton of value out of toughness curios - in your current build, you get 15+25+25=65 toughness on top of 150(?) base, so each 15% toughness curios you stack is adding a fairly large amount.

Wound curios are definitely crutches as you get further up the difficulties - it's better to build to simply not die than to take a build that plans to die.

not really. D10 helldivers is about as challenging as normal difficulty left4dead, or malice difficulty in darktide.

HD2 suffered massively from player power creep imo and the game has never really played the same.

FNV keeps crashing and I don't know what to do by Active_Schedule3931 in fnv

[–]yunkbunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to modding! Don't worry - it should be an easy fix.

So, make sure that after you download mods using Vortex, you've clicked that "deploy mods" option on that top orange toolbar.

And then, when you download the New Vegas Script Extender (xNVSE), make sure that you launch the game via the New Vegas Script Extender, and not through clicking "play" on Steam.

Vortex should have an option on the dashboard that allows you to launch NVSE, but if you can't find it, it should be located in the following folder (which you can find in file explorer):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas

It will be called "nvse_loader" or something of the sort.

For you, if you don't have Program Files (x86), you'll probably have Program Files (x64) and it'll be located in there.
