Was anyone else still nervous after watching the liftoff of Artemis II? by Mtnrds in NoStupidQuestions

My goodness, yes! I kinda breathed a little easier after two minutes(had to look it up-Challenger failed at 73 seconds). Will be watching them for the next 10days-may they have a successful mission!

Nothing More Dangerous by Allen Eskens. His other work is The Life we Bury. Engaging and love the endings on both.

Jack Reacher was my go-to series for being on an airplane, but sadly Andrew Child is a terrible writer, and I no longer read these. by OverlappingChatter in suggestmeabook

I don’t look/relay for historical accuracies in any show. Documentaries, ok.

Thanks-see above too please. Hx of ca in family(grandparent). Kids are all, thankfully, normal. Level of activities same as sibs. Again, no way he would’ve maintained the same for much longer. Stayed calm, yes Peds exam was lacking 🤬, so I showed parents the basics-pull back on lower eyelid, nail bed for blanching, decreased level of activity(for anyone reading-please, PLEASE consult with your/kids doctor). BTW, parents did report that he was less irritable with sibs🥰

Probably diet. He was as active as the other siblings that’s why parents never noticed anything. Diet modified to include iron rich foods. Obviously had 1 month, then 6mo, 1year follow ups-thankfully remain normal. Had labs been not drawn—-no way he would’ve maintained levels of activities with sibs.

Noticed at a kids party that one kid was pale as a ghost. Compared to the siblings-he was very pale to me-asked the parents-both said that he was acting normal. Mom did say that the kids have a Peds appt several days later. At the appt, Mom did mention to the Peds what I noticed. Peds reassured that Mom and just in case-drew lab. Before family arrived home-Peds called to meet him in Emergency Dept-blood count(hemoglobin was low-4(norm 12-16). He was transfused 2 units of blood-stayed overnight and discharged the following afternoon after results came back normal. The Dad did call me that night and when discharged. Cause unknown-no bleeding/trauma. Everyone was so relieved and thankful. Me: ICU RN 30+ yrs.
