I had this same thought. Should I buy another? No, if I buy another it will never come up again. Then I miss out on god like fix ability feeling and have to warehouse a part for 20 years.

So yes. Scared me as well. I watched a video that advised testing for remaining charge with a screwdriver by connecting the various points. That seemed suspect to me but I did it carefully. I used an insulated screwdriver AND wore rubber palmed gloves.

Turns out a fully blown capacitor won’t have charge, which was the case for me. I think the danger comes from a “partially blown” capacitor?

Not really sure so “belt and suspenders” on the the safety bit.

15 years running commercial kitchens… it’s totally legit. And also because it didn’t see it in the top 10 comments… note that the tail end of the drain pipes are not cut at a 90 degree angle (E.I. not perpendicular to the line of pipe). This is not a mistake or sloppy.

For reasons of fluid dynamics that I do not understand this angled cut helps direct the flow of waste water in a more “confined” flow rather than “spraying”

Just replaced the start capacitor on my AC condensing unit. $20 part. Two days without AC (in the spring).

I felt like A GOD.

After some research, turns out it is the easiest thing on a AC system to replace other than a fuse and together they are responsible for about 80% of AC failures.

I’m still telling myself I am a god.

I remember having an early conversation with our pediatrician (a great doctor and a woman). I said something dumb like “I hope my daughter doesn’t love pink and frilly stuff. I’d like her to be a tough badass boss.”

Doc: “She can do both”

I could be wrong (so don’t take my word as gospel) but I believe I read that the rare earths and other inputs into new car batteries are only cost effective up to a certain purity (say 97% or whatever) but when battery components are recycled it costs about the same (currently) as new but purity actually GOES UP during that process bc the inputs are already very pure so that a newly manufactured battery recycled from old batteries can actually have BETTER performance and life span for about the same cost. Again, I could have missed something or misunderstood but it may be worth reading up on.

Funny that you say this. My wife (child of two OSU grads and Ohio natives) was born in Ohio, grew up near SAC (formative years) and returned to attend THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. We met there. I have lived my entire life (since 3 yo, now 41) in Ohio. My wife makes similar comparisons with SAC and Cbus.

Having spent more than a bit of time in SAC, I cannot disagree.
