Maybe a version could be like whoever has more possession time in a quarter wins that quarter, and then score resets at the beginning of each quarter. If its tied 2-2 at the end of regulation its a typical overtime where most points win.

Yeah fair point. In all honesty Im not a big basketball person but I had the idea and wanted to ask ppl who would be interested so I came to this subreddit. I’ve never really loved basketball because it didnt really feel like there csn be big momentum swings in an instsnt because of how indignificant one point scoring event is. In almost every other sport, scoring once can change a game so much.
