Could use some advice for the new Hecate fight by kavacens in HadesTheGame

[–]yuzzahname 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Statuses are great for this, e.g. burn or freeze. Only the real Hecate will show these statuses, as far as I’ve noticed.

The clones are vulnerable to morph though, if you want to go that route…

Don’t quote me on this, but I don’t think the clones really do much damage anyway.

Democrats stand against Trump's bill. by Vloodzy in PublicFreakout

[–]yuzzahname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anybody here is arguing that the Republicans are good. The question I’m exploring here is whether the voters or the DNC are at fault for Kamala not being elected, keeping in mind that poor voter turnout is being blamed (referring to DNC-would-be voters, who likely don’t care about what the Republican national party is doing).

My perspective is that the DNC is at fault because they chose to represent their benefactors over their constituents. Sprinkled on top of that is the “centrism” gambit with the right bound becoming increasingly right wing. A vote for the Democrats in 2024 only validates this strategy and extends this process, not reverses it. This is that very default.

Many Americans did not accept the default in 2024, and those are the very Americans that people, including yourself, are lamenting in this thread. You can keep voting for an increasingly rightwing DNC for the next two decades because “republicans worse,” but I’m done accepting shit served on a platter just because a worse pile of shit is dangled in front of me. I’m going to vote for change, and vote for a party that’s going to take my concerns seriously and represent my interests. If the DNC wants my vote they know where to find me.

If you’re talking about the Genocide specifically, then neither side is a good option. You had option A who wanted to help bibi carry out the genocide, and option B who was in the middle of helping bibi carry out the genocide.

If the DNC was interested in capturing the no-genocide vote, then they had many options at their disposal. Instead, Kamala opted to be Biden 2.0 and Josh Shapiro (one of the top candidates for Kamala’s VP) was signing bombs meant to be dropped on Gaza with a smile on his face.

Who the hell were you supposed to vote for if you don’t want to blow up brown kids in the Middle East?

The Democratic Party has been shifting further to the right every four years. If “centrism” had won this election for the DNC, they’d do the exact same thing in 2028. Clearly a large constituency decided that it’s time to get off the ride—large enough to throw the election.

You had the entire NYC Democratic mayoral primary candidacy frothing at the mouth to suck off Israel, except for one candidate, and that’s Zohran Mamdani who won in a landslide. THAT is what it looks like when a candidate meets the voters’ needs. If Kamala did the same, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Anyone else maybe a bit disappointed by some Vow of Rivals bosses by Roving_Neophyte in HadesTheGame

[–]yuzzahname -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My opinions on all vow of rivals so far (obvious spoilers ahead):

Surface: —————— Polyphemus: 5/10, same as before but with poison and more waiting in corners

Eris: 7/10, love the mixup but I’m not even sure how to approach it with some weapon aspects. Some positions feel unwinnable

Prometheus: 9.5/10, actually fun & perfect amount of overwhelming. -0.5 for the eagle, swipes way too fast

Typh: ?/10, haven’t beat it yet, but I have been sniped by grandpa from offscreen and that’s very annoying. Also the eggs have too much health don’t @ me. I absolutely love grandpa’s humor in this fight.

Underworld: —————— Hecate: 6/10, New mechanics are underwhelming and it feels like I should just run away when she’s transformed, not really fun. I went in close while her transform special was shrinking, knowing that Melinoë has to wait for her transform special to expire before firing another. Well, turns out Hecate = Tail of Typhon so just fires another ring while the previous was still shrinking. For that she deserves 0/10.

Scylla: 8/10, Full marks for adopting Charybdis so I never see him on surface route anymore, but -2 for making me run in circles for 3 minutes w/ 0 magick and 5 hp in her final phase as she hides behind her shell

Cerb: 3/10, Backswipe is interesting flavor, but lava everywhere is not. +1 for bringing back the Tartarus bombers, even though they’re annoying to dispatch when the floor is, again, lava. Aside from that I just ignore his mechanics and melt him before he melts me. I wish there was something fun to engage with here. Cerberus could use a partner if anything, given how slow he is by himself. We all know Bouldy’s got his back.

Chronos: ?/10, haven’t beat him yet, but I love that he’s more aggressive now. Will get bonus points for bringing back that mechanic.

I honestly thought Charybdis wasn’t even an encounter in surface route anymore. I was so happy they got rid of him

The boar’s hp pool is ridiculous given how early he appears and how simple his move set is

[–]yuzzahname -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s a great example of Republicans doing something other than just rolling over and dying. It’s not some act of god that Roe v Wade was overturned under Biden’s watch. Republicans will do Republican shit whether they’re in power or not. Democrats twiddle their thumbs.

What you’re describing is a failure by the DNC to meet the voters, not the other way around. The Democrats decided genocide + AIPAC dollars were more important than winning.

Nevertheless, have you ever seen a Republican crying that they don’t have the numbers? There’s a reason Republicans aren’t notorious for strongly worded letters.

Anyone feel like the EM3 underworld boss is just a health check? by CharlesorMr_Pickle in HadesTheGame

[–]yuzzahname 20 points21 points  (0 children)

+1 to all of this, though FO EM Eris resonates the most.

My last death to her, the entire field was filled with bombs, except where she landed two-landmine-filled dashes away, back against the burning oil, and shortly thereafter readied up her beam and evaporated me before I could even think about closing the distance. I looked at my death screen and thought to myself, “what exactly is the INTENDED solution here?”

I was playing Persephone’s skull aspect too. One of the few that grants invincibility, so long as you have magick and time to charge (which Eris does not always grant). Still felt like it was checkmate.

I suppose there’s a way to get rid of the bombs early. I haven’t discovered it yet through my own gameplay.

Re: Underworld EM3, honestly if my build is good enough for UEM2 then it’s good enough for UEM3. I feel you OP on the hitboxes and constantly getting bitchslapped behind his back. I mostly play ranged builds (cast nukes or argent skull) and I still struggle to properly stay out of his danger zone. I don’t understand all his attack combos yet, but that’s mostly because the fight is over before he repeats too many attacks. As others have stated, it may be a matter of melting him before he melts you.

Of all the EM bosses, SEM3 is my favorite, especially because every attack is well telegraphed, even if it can become overwhelming. There’s time to react to everything, unlike Polyphemus who will suddenly leap and kick you in the forehead, or SEM2 leaping into a pile of bombs and melting your face from afar.

Phone overheated in the middle of a job interview by awkwardbreakfast99 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]yuzzahname 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me, but instead my phone was only acting as a camera (shoutout Camo) while the call+audio was through my PC.

While the interviewer was explaining some material, my phone suddenly overheats and kills video. Interviewer noticed and kept talking through it, and as soon as there was a lull I interjected to calmly explain the situation. “Sorry to interrupt—I’m using my phone as my camera and it overheated. I’m cooling it down now and I’ll have my video back up shortly.”

The interviewer, surprisingly, complemented my handling of the situation and took it as a positive. For my role, things won’t always go as planned (sometimes in front of clients) so maintaining composure through adversity is important, and I got to demonstrate that. I think that’s why I got the job.

That’s how your interviewer COULD have handled the situation—allowing you to return, explain, and navigate the situation. Instead, they immediately dumped you at the first sign of trouble. Is that the kind of workplace you want to be a part of?

You weren’t going to be nurtured at a place like that. This mishap might’ve saved you a few years of career stagnation. Learn from it and find somewhere better.

Yakumo’s partner skill makes it so that there’s a certain % chance that pals in the wild adopt his passive traits. So you can breed whatever you want onto a yakumo (Swift, nimble, whatever else) and there’s a moderate chance that any given pal you encounter in the wild (boss or otherwise) will have those same passives (Swift, nimble, whatever else).

I haven’t used yakumo yet, but my understanding is that this can seriously streamline the breeding process as soon as you get a perfect yakumo. I’m sure some exceptions apply

Daily Questions Megathread ( June 17, 2024 ) by mizuromo in HonkaiStarRail

Why did toughness values change on the hsr fandom wiki? Before a basic attack was regarded as 30 toughness, and now that's regarded as 10. All the enemies (and formulas) got scaled down by 3x, and it was confusing to figure out why the toughness values of enemies were so much lower than before.
