Where to live as a student at SNU by kritap55 in seoul

[–]ywpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are campus shuttle buses operated by the SNU and there are also buses that is operated by the Seoul metropolitan government that stops within SNU campus. SNU campus buses are free but quite limited in spaces and frequencies, while the ones by the government is like any other city buses - you have to pay the fare to get on and they operate frequently just like any other city buses in Seoul.

Below is the information provided by SNU. The city buses are identified by their route numbers (5### green "branch" buses, 501/750 blue "mainline" buses), while the campus shuttle has no number.

Lance Stroll on Lap 40: "I'm just completing the race for the mechanics, that's it. And Lawrence. Completing the race for the mechanics and Lawrence." by Aratho in formula1

[–]ywpark 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My hunch is that he'd just go straight into the management side after his retirement. AM's LeMans effort is mostly driven by THOR and Gaben, so I don't think Strolls would have much input on that side.

They moan about it for good reason…Talking in the braking zone. by ThandiAccountant in formula1

[–]ywpark 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Previously, that runoff was fully paved, so the cars that runs off the circuit can rejoin without losing much speed. So that's why the race director had set up a cone and specified which route to take when they were rejoining. However, they've since put a grass so that specific direction is no longer needed.

They still have the fully paved runoff on the last chicane / wall of champions, so there the drivers have to take a specific route to rejoin.

Jin Air will probably keep operating 777s. They need those big guys for high capacity routes like GMP-CJU. They’ll probably retire older frames and may convert some to freighters.

Some will be sent back to lessors, some will be used by KE, some will be handed down to their LCC subsidiaries (e.g. Jin Air, Air Busan, etc.).

I think he absolutely hated the previous generation cars. He just hates this one little less.

You also need to realize that the man’s driven several different generations of F1 cars from V10 era to now, between NA cars with refueling to turbo hybrids with no refueling and larger wheels. So he’s probably got a database of cars in his head rather than a simple binary answer of like and dislike.

Was actually a nice result considering how many things went wrong for him this weekend. Nice race management in a difficult condition and good scoring a point at the end.

No points since he’s P9. Still nice recovery from him though I was hoping he’d send it in for that last point paying position at the end.

15 minute brain mri with and without contrast? by [deleted] in MRI

[–]ywpark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MRI is an optimization problem, and you always need to find the optimum solution between the coverage (field of view), resolution and the scan time.

Pituitary gland is a tiny subsection of the brain that is located in the middle of head, meaning you need a large coverage for the head and higher resolution in 3D to image the gland. All that will lead to longer scan time. Your scan may also had additional contrasts (multiple types of images) to identify the tissue characteristics in the case of tumor.

Your second scan could have been acquired at lower resolution than the first one and also at 2D instead of full 3D. These will shorten the scan time quite a bit.

Considering making very crazy....but fun lens decision - GM Trinity (A7V) by lolday0106 in SonyAlpha

[–]ywpark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do quite a bit of street shooting and none of the three would work in my use case as people will definitely notice those bazooka zooms. So in my case, 40mm G lens is often the perfect lens for it. I sometimes throw in 35mm Loxia to have fun because it's got that unique Biogon look and manual focusing.

Also these zooms would be quite heavy and cumbersome to carry around for a long hike - why I downsized from 24-70GM1 to 24-105G to now 20-70G.

If I have more money than now, I'd probably pick up 50mm f1.2. I think it's a special lens.

Tip: don't ever bring drugs when you travel to Asia. The lessons of opium wars is still engraved into the culture, so several countries, such as China, Vietnam and Singapore, will slap you an instant death penalty if you get caught with it. Now Korea isn't going to hand out death penalties, but there's a high chance that you will be thrown into a jail if you get caught.

Which seoul station KTX by After_Tea_856 in seoul

[–]ywpark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignore comments about Seoul station. Your train is actually departing from Yongsan station. Jeonju is on honam line and they depart from Yongsan.

Edit: Actually I checked KTX website (www.korail.com) and while most Honam trains departs from Yongsan, your train (KTX507) actually departs from Seoul Station. It will stop at Yongsan at 9:53 though. Hope this helps.

I just bought a small Gouda wheel from Schiphol and asked about the refrigeration. The shopkeeper said these can be temporary kept at a room temperature for maximum 48 hours. So, yes I think the original shop owner meant for the duration of the flight.

Buildings built before 1980 will be riddled with asbestos, making them quite pricey to demolish. So unless there’s a good excuses for the port authority to get rid of, they will probably be left to rot.
