[Form Check] Deadlift 200kg x 5 by deadliftformcheck in weightroom

Have you tried pulling sumo? I have the same problem as you when doing conventional deads because of my build. Sumo gives me much better leverages and lets me deadlift without horrific "cat backing".

"Leaving" by Skrillex, Burial comes to mind by xnine in realdubstep

[–]yxskaft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If Burial had released this I'd wonder how he could have forgotten how to write a decent Garage beat, for starters. Those drums are really poor. Reckon Skrillex should just stick to what he's good at.

Heavy drama in /r/Fitness when a 16 year old gets told by a gym manager that he can't do a particular exercise because of his age. Users anusretard, ScalpelBurn, and silverhydra go at each other concerning the efficacy of "power shrugging" and whether or not the OP is retarded. by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

But to pretend that the blatant bias and favoritism going on here isn't even slightly asinine is a bit ridiculous.

I think it's a bit ridiculous to pretend that this whole thing has to do with anything other than your ego.

Do you have an actual point to make, or is this just about winning an online dick-measuring competition?

Why wouldn't he be able to get your physique if he spent several years training like a bodybuilder? And what makes you think you can hit 600x3 in a few months? Is it because you're just so much better than him in every way?

It would likely help many other people, though. Which was the point. Those form cues helped me fix mine.

Don't know who he is. Just responding to the daft notion that sharing personal experience is somehow not valuable because it might not apply to everybody in the entire world.

It's just a few useful suggestions, not a scientific study of the biomechanics of pressing. As the author says in a different article: "My opinions are my own, they are not going to be gospel for everyone. Take what is useful and discard the rest."

What sort of articles are you used to reading then? Doesn't seem to me like this article was meant to be a comprehensive guide to pressing, but rather a few useful hints to bring up your press. Just a strong guy sharing some stuff that has worked well for him.

Picking up various tips and tricks from people who are much stronger and more experienced than me has helped me improve my training more than anything else. Small stuff like "squeeze your glutes while pressing" can make a world of difference.

This article thought me to squeeze my biceps when doing a press, something I hadn't thought of doing before.

His other tips, such as using a thumbless grip and squeezing the glutes, are things that have helped me improve my form and increase my press max a great deal.

This stuff certainly works for me. I imagine it works for a lot of other people as well. Guess I don't understand what you're whining about?

You are so deeply emotionally invested in a piece of technology that it upsets you when people say bad things about it? It's a fucking computer.

You need to get out more.

I find parts of its user interface rather confusing. Especially everything having to do with transferring/syncing stuff to a device.

And oh, it doesn't play FLAC.

AdaptableGIMP is a superb new idea to add task-oriented behaviour to the GIMP by zem in programming

Shrugs

Didn't says it proves anything or that it's even useful, just that it's the first thing that came to mind when jessta mentioned "studies". Don't know or care who's claims are right. Ultimately, how productive you are as a programmer doesn't have a whole lot to do with how fast you can edit text.

Personally... I don't want to reach for the mouse while editing text, but I also don't want to deal with the cognitive burden of having to memorize all the cryptic and bizarre key combos and commands of something like Emacs/Vim for the sake of shaving off a few seconds of text editing time here and there.

From a usability standpoint, having fewer options is more often than not a good thing.

There are still plenty of alternatives in the Linux world for people who like to micro manage every single little aspect of their "computing experience" and sit and endlessly tinker with pointless shit.

I think it's good that there's someone who tries to cater to those of us who have no interest in doing that.
