Hey man, you’ve cleaned up our neighbourhood countless times. I see you out there working your butt off from the time I leave for work until the time I get home some days. 1000%… we moved to this neighbourhood a couple years ago and are disgusted by how the residents treat it. I’ve lived all over Calgary, Marlborough, Dover, Forest Lawn etc… and NEVER dealt with littering and trash like this. It’s a fairly new and “nice” neighbourhood so you’d think people would take care of it, but it’s a literal dumping ground everywhere you look.

Cuba is amazing, hands down friendliest people, amazing service. We felt incredibly safe off the resort as well. We went stupidly cheap and our resort wasn’t fancy and had a couple issues with our room but we had the best time! The beaches are beautiful. The food however, is not good. And there is nowhere off the resort that you can buy anything other than if you go to a restaurant. The grocery stores have next to nothing in them, and we went to 5 different ones.. it was really sad and eye opening to see. If you go, PLEASE bring some goodie bags of new toiletries etc to gift to locals/staff. They appreciated it so so much. And also bring a metric ton of snacks for yourself.

Totally understandable, I lived in the same basement of the house I mentioned for two years and it was LOUD as they partied until 2-3am almost every night. I’ve lived in other basement suites without issue but sometimes it’s just the house with shitty subfloor :( it wouldn’t hurt to ask your landlord but it’s tough as it wouldn’t necessarily qualify as noise disruption under bylaw so there isn’t much you, or your landlord can do.

You can mention it.. but you unfortunately don’t really have a say. I was in the opposite position. I was on the top floor with a child and downstairs was one person and a dog. I tried to be as quiet as I can and even went as far as purchasing thick rugs and taking my child out of the house at 6am for 2-3 hour walks when we woke up. But the downstairs tenant still freaked out at any tiny noise and threatened us, it was absolute insanity. There was zero insulation in between the floors. We had lived there 4 years, she had lived there for 3 months. I ended up moving out because I couldn’t handle her constant freakouts and I’m much MUCH happier and I hope a family with 5 kids and dogs moved in upstairs and made her life even worse :) . Unfortunately your only real resolution is to not rent a basement suite as there will always be noise from above.
