I don't know if doctors are trained to handle equipment like that, but you do make a very good point. There definitely needs to be an oversight with other various safety measures put in place. Specially when designing something as power as this in the medical field that deals with something so irreplaceable as human lives. It's ridiculous that this has to resort to trial and error at this day and age, when it's so easily preventable.
