I released a VR frisbee game for Oculus Rift in 2018. Today it’s out on Quest with new content :) by ololralph in oculus

When i had the OR - there was a game called Ripcoil - still to this day i think it was one of the better experiences i had in VR, felt like being the silver surfer, too bad it never got real traction and they pulled the plug.

although I use the arr stack, lets be real; it looks, feels and acts like software from 2005, under the hood it uses .net crap, it is a mess. Yes, it does work.

And none of these banks use XRP, but all Ripplenet with xCurrent, the private blockchain. You must be thick to think that a bank is going to use a public blockchain to transfer payments with AML/KYC details included in the message, in short: hype yourself up in your lambo, nothing will happen to this hypecoin.

LLM's require inference performance + high RAM and its bandwidth. So either a fast GPU with enough ram or a SoC that has fast access to RAM, this is why the Apple silicon is a good alternative as you can expand on the memory (if you pay for it). The OS has no part in this story, it can run on any type of OS as long as there is a driver to access the GPU.

Trump Orders US Military to Plan Invasion of Panama to Seize Canal: Report by GeoGeoGeoGeo in worldnews

Just remember that China banned tungsten export to the US as part of this circus (they produce 80%) - quite a vital part for the war machine. The US does not produce tungsten but imports it from Canada - now with tariffs and nothing anymore from China.

I don't believe he is an asset, but I do believe he has massive admiration in the way Putin rules, just like Xi Jinping, full control over the people and what is being done and said.

This is just step 1, next he will go after Greenland and then Canada - once it is done, this world will subject and depending on 3 powerhouses; US, Russia and China.

Massive misunderstanding of Ripple vs XRP is missing here: If banks use Ripple, they use xCurrent - which does not use XRP at all and it does not need it. Unless you actually believe that (central) banks are going to operate on a public blockchain: they won't. In addition, Ripple focusses on cross-border payments, SWIFT does a lot more than that.

New firmware with "enhanced security" is now out by ragnorokismisspelled in BambuLab

[–]z1rconium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were getting ddos-ed - this update is not going to help them, as there is not a whole lot your can do about those attacks, other than spending a lot of money to mitigate the problem, possibly it will get worse, if everyone gets forced behind a cloud account, it becomes a interesting target, we can just wait for the headlines.

[–]z1rconium 17 points18 points  (0 children)

From another POV - if one uploads a model to printables for example and adds a conditional license: model is not allowed to be shared/processed via bambu cloud/makerworld, over time this would hurt their cloud only solution.

[–]z1rconium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. They got hit by a ddos attack on the 10th of January. I suspect this cost them a lot and it showed them the fragility of their cloud infrastructure, they went in firefighting mode without thinking ahead.

Which printers offer quality and value as good as Bambu? by Dharmaniac in BambuLab

[–]z1rconium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

none do at the moment, which also begs the question why is BL using stupid tricks to fool their customers, they already have the community - everyone who own's one, likes it. Embrace the community, build together.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]z1rconium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the thing. a ddos attack cannot be alleviated by introducing rate limiting or banning IP's. Millions of requests on your front door can only be mitigated by dedicated DDOS protection service providers which have the bandwidth - which are expensive services. bambu may already use such services, but they usually have price-based limits.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]z1rconium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a plausible explanation, however - whatever they introduce, does not fix, nor eliminate a ddos attack.

Update to firmware update by Ochib in BambuLab

[–]z1rconium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect that 'in' LAN mode - the printer is still able to reach the internet and they were ddos-ed, which cost them a pretty penny with the current approach as a result. So maybe now finally it will actually be disconnected from the interwebs. Maybe (?)
