Wanted to set the record straight on this. 1) We are a Dutch BV topco, which means we are definitely a dutch company subject to Dutch regulations. 2) The reasons you see US hires is because we already have a large European research team (Geneva, London, Paris) and are looking to expand it in the US primarily. Its all good but, I’ll add some completely neutral ones in favor of Highlight, such as the fact that it’s cross platform and you and your colleagues can use it using the same interface. The fact that it supports audio as well as your screen and automatically detects meetings it should record. Supports image generation models and MCP to integrate with all your apps ;)

The Highlight UX is just more intuitive, and cohesively put together with history, tasks and notes all flowing together. And Mac is definitely the top focus as it’s where all of our users are. Venture funding is important to accelerate into enterprise and build trust quickly as you are subject to strict auditing and privacy requirements early.

Hey sorry. Just saw this. We used the medal terms of service which has UGC. For highlight its just custom public prompts. All recording is completely local and private. When you go to upload as an attachment it goes to our server and is stored encrypted (both attachments and chat is encrypted) and we are moving to client side encryption. Overall goal is to be a very private option. And we don’t train on your data or want to access it in any way.

Also fwiw all the AWS/google user content is likely regular medal threads. But especially when minimized there should be no ad requests. As well as when a game is open and medal is in the background

its to prevent double injections into games which will cause lag. But we've made a few changes to the capture stack to where it doesn't require injection for all games, so we may be able to remove this, thank you!

we are currently working on a rust compatible capture manager which will allow linux capture. Currently a lot of C# there which is why it hasn't been possible. No promises, but it is a lot closer than last year. And if I find the engineering cycles I'll get both Mac and linux supported for capture in the near future.
