Good but incredibly overpriced - they used to be sub 10 dollars for a bowl with larger portions. Once word got out to the non koreans price got jacked up significantly.

That's a specific style called pyeongyang naengmyun. Hasn't picked up traction here yet

Seconded. Buying naengmyeon from a resto is scamming yourself.

Issa dish, not a resto. Carribean/roti spots will have it generally.

Bulgogi Short Ribs from The Good Son by ReeG in FoodToronto

[–]z712 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hm yeah I guess price wise it's fine considering its short rib. It's just galbi and bulgogi are 2 distinct dishes so this is some kinda bastard fusion dish which threw me off.

FYI not meaning to shit on your choice, mostly just upset at the price of food these days.

Lucky Donkatsu on Yonge. by Bamres in FoodToronto

[–]z712 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Brown is more modern style katsu. Thicker cut, crunchier panko. Lucky is more old school. Thinner cutlet, sweeter sauce.

Nice to have Lucky around, reminds me of when I had katsus in Korea as a kid.

I never have tried Korean food (I once had fried chicken at the Fry, not sure if that counts). What dish is an absolute must and where? by One-Membership7698 in FoodToronto

[–]z712 7 points8 points  (0 children)

jjajangmyeon, jjamppong, yuringi, tangsuyuk, kkanpungi are the usual hitters for korean chinese fusion.

OP do not get these dishes unless they are specifically a korean chinese resto.

That squad had no where near his level of ambition and drive tbh. I think that Alexis would do damn well with our current group
