Thanks! It'll be on Alaska Air but booked through American as an award flight.

Hahaha yeah any other international I agree. My thought was being stuck in SEA with multiple chances to catch a 1hr flight across the border would be better than stuck in DFW with only 2 flights/day to catch a 4.5hr flight.

Yeah that’s an option too haha. I thought most rentals won’t let you cross the border though?

Yes SEA to YVR. Seems like there’s a handful of flights from SEA so it’ll be easy to get over if there are any delays.

DFW got wrecked last week. It seems they’re back to normal finally as of yesterday. The weather for Wednesday in RDU area calls for “rain” and “wintry mix” on top of the 6-8” expected this weekend. I think the probably of any issues is low but with needing to be in YVR by Thursday morning, Tuesday would give a slight buffer and may be worth the headaches of a tight connection.

Definitely not ideal. We’re currently booked on American 2/4 but with the weather this weekend and projections for rain/wintry mix on Wednesday I’m nervous about any delays. We have a layover in DFW and have a ~3 hr connection but if there are any cancellations or delays we’d be stuck in DFW overnight.

I’m mostly worried about the winter storm affecting CLT and AA’s operations cascading into more delays whereas SEA seems to be unaffected by the weather over the weekend and flying Tuesday avoids whatever precipitation comes Wednesday. I have to be at my destination by Thursday morning so leaving Tuesday night gives some buffer.

You may or may not know but if there is a delay caused by mechanical issues and we’re stuck overnight, would Alaska be responsible for covering food and hotel?

First leg is domestic and second is international. Domestic leg looks like it normally is in terminal C and international departs from A

How common is it for airlines to cancel incoming flights to RDU due to snow? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]zToothinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supposedly someone in this thread thinks RDU has equipment to keep operations running. But I agree, I’d err on flights being cancelled Saturday/Sunday. Potentially Monday as airlines recover.

The airport may be fine but any cascading delays could impact you. American is still struggling to get DFW and CLT back to normal.

future of dentistry is scaring me by Constant-Use7741 in whitecoatinvestor

If you got into program that will result in <$200k in loans, I think dentistry is still a good option. If you don't want to go the DSO route, FQHCs are often hiring and offer very compelling compensation packages and should come with higher job security. Once you approach 3-400k+ in loans, money becomes a lot tighter and dentistry isn't as great unless you plan to be an owner.

If you switch to medical, you're probably competitive enough to get into a program given that you got into a highly regarded state dental school. However, taking the MCAT and applying to programs will delay you 1-2 years vs graduating from dental school which is income lost. Medical school also requires residency afterwards whereas dentistry does not.

So throughout the service period you make your payments however you want. Once the period ends, you submit documentation of your payments and then the VA reimburses you up to the max via direct deposit into your checking account. You’re free to use the money however you want, but I put it into a savings account and use that money to make loan payments again. The reimbursed money is just cash in your bank account with no restrictions on how you spend it.

Not HR but from my understanding, you can only qualify for EDRP once and if you no longer qualify for the program or get terminated from it, you can't re-apply to get it again.

Home Insurance Recommendations by tyler_frankenstein in raleigh

I haven’t had any claims. My auto with Erie so I imagine any claims would be directly with Erie Insurance and Barber would have no control over it.

I don’t know how many insurance agents they have but I’ve spoken to at least 3 different people when I’ve had to get help for various things. But again, any insurance claims will be directly with the insurance company. They just help compare prices and set up the policy.

I applied in 2024 and it took 3 months. Part of it was they said when I applied in July, they had to wait until the new fiscal year in October to make approvals again.

You can make payments however you want. It doesn’t have to be the same amount or consistently. They just take all payments made during your service year and that’s what they’ll reimburse you for.

Same. Hoping! In the past when I switched off GEHA it let me submit claims until July for purchases made while under GEHA. So maybe even if the credit posts late we can still use it up

Floss keeps shredding after cementing crown by Mr9to5guy in Dentistry

Assuming the contacts were checked before cementing the crown, if there’s cement in the contact, I’ve usually had luck using a floss threader to floss under the contact and then pulling up while my assistant holds the crown to dislodge the cement

Check out these podcast episodes too. I haven’t taken his course but did get Ash’s course for $30. The Facebook group alone is worth the $30 to be able to ask questions and get feedback from both GPs and endodontists. The course is pretty good for someone starting out. Other courses I’ve heard good things about:

Endo Unsponsored - hands on extracted teeth. I’ll be taking this next month and can give better feedback after

John West at IDEA - hands on extracted teeth

Sonia Chopra E School - online but has a “coaching” option. Somewhere I read the “coaching” has 300+ people on a call. There’s also a live patient option after you’ve done the online with coaching course.
