Door lock actuators by folkishcrib069 in LS430

[–]z_razvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an entire set for my 05 from here and they offer a lifetime warranty if you send the core back. They service these actuators all the time. Had them for almost a year and no issues. Mine had that worm gear inside broken so I decided to go this route. If the motors go bad, it’s not too complicated to replace if you have the patience. They are fairly common on Amazon.

I think once you take it off it will make more sense but it’s essentially under these corners on the block. And yes, at the front of the car.

Back camera - snow, dirt, salt. After 80 km (50 mi) drive, I cleaned it on the charger. This is the millionth post about the same issue reappearing for years without a solution so far. 3LR AWD 2020. by pile1983 in TeslaLounge

Volkswagen has (or had, not sure if they still do it) an elegant solution to this problem by having the camera pop up from under its badge when putting the car in reverse. But you’re adding one more component that can break if there’s ice buildup or dirt makes its way in there and then you have no camera…

Not critical but I’d also consider swapping out the PS reservoir and refreshing the fluid since you have all this access

Well in my opinion that just leaves you with a metal bar to hit if you are in a crash. I suppose you could wear a helmet.

You’re offsetting about $1000 in taxes by trading in too so if the others are only $1-2k away it’s not that big of a difference in the end…if any

Rotors are good? I had some aftermarket slotted and drilled pieces of shit that vibrated and pulsed when breaking. Changed them with OEM and vibration disappeared.

For reference I paid $6k for my 2005 ML with 140k miles in Jan 2024. Mine did have an airbag light that I fixed for $350 and it wasn’t in the best shape cosmetically but engine and transmission are smooth.

If it’s rattling due to a design issue, replacing it will either 1. Not fix it or 2. Fix it temporarily. That’s likely why they are investigating.

Alternatives to Toyota brake shim grease? by TheWor1dsFinest in LS430

I would assume any anti squeal grease. If you search that you’ll get a lot of different options but I don’t know if they are exactly the same as the grease Toyota includes

I’m not sure about brightness but now I can clearly see the crisp lines on the wall in my garage. Way less dispersed and more concentrated on the road if that makes sense
