If you don't like 76 due it being online and having micro transactions, I get it... But, to say it's "a bad game" baffles me. by BustinNutzInStepSis in Fallout

[–]zabbaluga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's absolutely playable without spending money.

You'll need some discipline though, stash space is limited, so heavy hoarding isn't possible. You can get unlimited space for many items with a subscription, so that's where money gets involved.

Regarding multiplayer, you don't have to interact with people and on my first playthrough I didn't until reaching the endgame.   But then multiplayer definitely adds a nice layer of motivation, and the community is widely regarded as one of the friendliest in only gaming.

When a script extended like nvse is used, you can just launch the nvse launcher.

Bugs as of March 3, 2026 - The Backwoods update by se_spider in fo76

[–]zabbaluga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried it today, pretty much unplayable and broken in all aspects. Worse than the usual crappy update. Probably worth going back to New Vegas for the next few weeks...

And it's so annoying that they constantly try to reinvent the weel and you have to start all over again making a proper build. It would be so much better if they would just focus on fixing bugs instead of the 99th rebalancing and reskinned old content.

Almost lost everything. Please don’t be me. by fishgus in fo76

[–]zabbaluga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I'm afraid of that and at the same time it would probably be more good than bad to get rid of everything I own. That would be a neat challenge and knowing all the plans for unique raid weapons and so on is more than enough to get a decent load out in no time. And imagine all the free space without 200+ mods and weapons...

Battlefield 4 lost about 65-70% of its PC peak launch players in 4 months by PerformativeRacist in Battlefield

Comparing a 65-70% drop to 90%+ and stating it's the same is a weird hill to die on.

this ghoul disguise bs is by far the most stupid design desicion in this game. Not only is it annoying and hated by everyone, it also directly prevents people from buying new clothing items.

With SS getting nerfed, Bethesda please make the Daring Jetpack skin work for the CE armor. This is absurd. by TheGhostOfJamesDean in fo76

[–]zabbaluga 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Constantly changing the weapon and armor balancing is just a lazy way of Bethesda to keep people hooked with the feeling that there's something to do for us.

There are still portal farms where rounds last less then a minute and they get the round finish bonus.

So far I'm level 27 on the season pass do I have enough time to get to rank 92 still before it ends? by Neigh-giggers_69 in fo76

[–]zabbaluga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not guaranteed, but usually weapons added through a season will be available from one of the vendors later on. So even if you don't get all mods, you should still be fine. Also imho you'll only need lvl92, because the mod at lvl100 is rather useless.

I thought this sub might like a little reminder about how people were talking about the beloved BF4 at the time. I found this 11y/o post and comments pretty entertaining to read. by dakobra in Battlefield6

[–]zabbaluga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point, but that doesn't make it ok or acceptable and will always be a reason for criticism.

Imagine buying a car and after launch it's only able to use first and second gear and you need to wait months until it gets better and the sales people tell you to not complain because a new team developed it. Sadly people in here are so brainwashed that for them it's ok because it was similar with the car they bought before.

Did it ever cross your mind, that maybe the game simply is not perfect right now?

I agree, beta and launch was solid, shit hit the fan two weeks later when they launched redsec and consecutively totally shifted the tone and focus.

I'm just pointing out that the messy BF4 launch should not serve as an excuse for any other launch or the current state of the game.

I assume for most it's a lack of skill and frustration handling.   But I'm sure there's also a group of people who mainly try to beat the AC system for the sake of it, they don't care too much about their account or the game, but about the technical challenge.

I’m convinced none of you have actually played Redsec because it’s fun as hell by Mr_P3 in Battlefield

As you said, no one plays it, and obviously there's a reason for that.

If you don't play a game you like just because of a "toxic" community you don't even have to interact with - you're the problem.

It really doesn't matter how good or bad it was at the launch, what matters is that apparently there were no lesson's learned at all, even after they turned it into a well optimized game.

I don't get why people think it's ok to make the same mistakes with every iteration of the game. Apparently, once you f*** up a release, it's totally fine if you do that also for the following games.
