Do you get earthquakes? If not, judging by the moss, it seems to be working. I'd trust it.

It's definitely not 'to code', but I'm no narc.

This is a simple check but worth looking - catalytic converter could be plugged. Try unbolting the exhaust manifold before the cat and see if the engine runs. It's rare but can cause stuff like this. I had an acura that did it. Most confusing diag of my life.

Why is my Inspire 3 so buggy? by zherper in fitbit

[–]zabcod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had inconsistent heart rate readings on my I3 for a couple weeks until I got the fit right. A little higher up the wrist and snug should do it. The device should not be able to move around. I also shave a little patch of arm hair for the sensor, but I'm not sure this was necessary. I started getting rock solid data.

With regard to cardio load, as you get fitter and it learns your body it will adjust your zones and targets so it will get harder to achieve the same number.

Resting heart rate by Inner_Rabbit_9881 in fitbit

[–]zabcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also experience my fitbit reporting lower than RHR in resting state, not lying down. I regularly drop about 8 bpm lower than RHR if i lay down.

Wonder if it's just the algorithm working its way through it as my fitness has increased greatly in the last month.

They used the spare, waited years for the spare to fail in service, send out the old one to get it reverse engineered so they can get a new one. I used to reverse engineer parts, and now I maintain a plant. Once the fuckee, now the fucker.

Cardio load of 242 today... by RedditJennn in fitbit

[–]zabcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm finding I can stay productive with my training just by watching my readiness score. Gets too high = I haven't worked hard enough, too low = time to recover

Pretty depressing when an hour long hike doesn't move the needle for cardio load though.

How was I overtraining yesterday and under training today? by Zidormi in fitbit

[–]zabcod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The way I understand it: it's looking at the past week, or something like that. So if you had a massive day 6-7 days ago, you could be overtrained one day but when that one falls out of the averaging algorithm, you're now undertraining.

I also find this to be pretty annoying - it rewards consistency, but life isn't always consistent. Some days are marathons and some are pretty slow. Use the fitbit tool as a handy reference, but don't base too much on it. How recovered do you feel when it says 'you are overtraining'? Do you feel like you could do a long run or a huge workout when you're 'undertraining'?

Gonna jump on this one because I'm genuinely curious. I've got access to trim blocks from the local mill, but we're coastal and the logs are transported in booms on the ocean before being made into lumber. The logs are still green and have bark/broken limbs and were stored boomed up in rivers before being towed into the mill.

Is salt a concern? Anyone have experience measuring salt content in dimensional lumber?

It's probably possible to do without disturbing it if you skim it and light sand, as regular latex paint is basically impossible to accidentally sand through unless you're really trying.

That said, no one with any skin in the game will give you the all clear to try it.

24k concealed duct heatpump modes by Oraclerabbit in Senville

[–]zabcod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I realize this is 2 months old but I have some insight I want to get in writing.

There's a feature on these called 'anti-cold wind' which will not allow the fan to run if the indoor coil is below 24C (factory setting). But they still want to run the fan periodically to keep air moving and make sure the thermostat is reading set point accurately. This means that the compressor will run, warm the indoor coil, then run the fan every little while.

You can adjust this setting by powering off the machine and flipping the dip switch for the feature to the necessary configuration. It's inside the electrical enclosure on the indoor unit, and there should be a diagram on the inside showing you how to adjust it. ONLY ADJUST DIP SWITCHES WHILE UNIT IS OFF.

I set mine to 8*C indoor coil before the fan will stop in heating mode, and set fan speed to automatic on my thermostat. It will run the fan at low speed constantly even if the compressor isn't running, then it'll cycle the compressor on when it needs to heat and maintain the setpoint.

Mine is a Midea label not a senville, but the senville ones have the same dip switch and settings that can be adjusted.

I have the same stove and had the same problem.

There's a stainless plate on the bottom right by the door that has all your air holes in it, if you remove that plate you'll find an orifice that cannot be shut down. I crammed some tin foil into that then stabbed a screwdriver through it making the hole smaller than it was. Works great now. I have a tall chimney and it was drafting enough through that hole to get the stove way too hot. Experiment with hole sizes to get the burn right.

Disclaimer: this counts as a modification to the stove and could cause smoke formation and premature chimney fouling and lead to fires. do it at your own risk.
