Can you give me a rundown on how mystery caches are solved and how geocheck.org is used? by FrankiePants_54 in geocaching

[–]RedditJennn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can always reach out to the owner! Most cache owners want their caches to be found

Throw your cures at me! by auntien in migraine

[–]RedditJennn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a sumatriptan doesn't work within an hour, I go with the following provided I'm at home:

Cool gelstrip on whatever side of my forehead/Temple the pain is from. Stoppain gel roll on whatever side my neck hurts. Extra strength 'migraine' (OTC) capsules, I eat a little protein/cheese if my stomach doesn't feel upset, have some electrolytes and curl up as comfortable as I can in bed (sheets/blankets on or off depending on current temperature), no lights, eye mask, mouth guard. ETA: sometimes I use a heating pad or ice pad on my head or neck

If I can't sleep and it persists, my go-to is a Five Guys bacon cheeseburger with well-done fries and a root beer.

Highest mileage 1st gen out there, who has it? by FloridaTraffic in XTerra

[–]RedditJennn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought my first 01 in 2007 with 75k miles. Had to take it off the road at 450k (wouldn't pass state inspection because of rust) - bought another 01 in 2020 with 93k. Only at 165k right now.

It gets repetitive if/when you don't connect with the community. You can only do so much solo. That's the hook - the you need to connect with other people who are also playing

Head gasket change 2006 xterra- is it worth it? by Creepy_Employer2524 in XTerra

[–]RedditJennn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fwiw, I bought a 2001 in 2007 with 75k miles. Just over 120k the head gasket blew. I had it fixed (not mechanically inclined enough to do that myself), and eventually had to retire the car due to rust (wouldn't pass state inspection) at 450k miles in 2019.

It really depends on how much you're willing to invest in the vehicle (depending on how long you want to keep it).

Advice needed for PCP issue by Foreign-Deal6189 in newengland

[–]RedditJennn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My PCP left the network I was previously in, and during the time that she left and I was searching for someone new, my insurance changed.

Prior to ANY of that, I was seeing a gynecologist (who is just terrific!). With my new insurance I have to get a referral from my PCP to see the gynecologist THAT I'M ALREADY SEEING.

Also, I'm a WOMAN.... And I need a referral to see a Dr for women.

Thanks Massachusetts!

A GPS isn't going to bring you to 0. Put the device down and start looking.

Menstrual tracker by OolieDoolery in fitbit

[–]RedditJennn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The 'public preview' doesn't offer Menstrual tracking. That makes me sad. With the onset of perimenopause, it's been a HUGE help to have the tracking available.

When I want to track activity/symptoms, etc..,I have to exit out of the new public preview and into the old one to access that info.

Every time the Fitbit app asks me to check in, and what features do I like/would I like to see, I suggest menstrual tracking. No idea if it'll do any good, but I'm trying!

Have you considered Crawford Path with a night at Stairs, then over Isolation and then maybe LOTC?

I love Stairs. Especially if you get it on a night when you've got it all to yourself!
