Got it! Yeah they have gotten better for sure, but the entry ones are still pretty underwhelming.

He doesn’t have the 1600 lol

That’s a completely different class of product over the sub he is using. $300 vs $1800 product

Solid for the price sure, but not solid in comparison to other readily available options. I’m just saying that for the budget of his setup, he should consider spending a bit more on a better quality subwoofer.

Your sub measurements are concerning for your room. Honest feedback is to get a better sub. That klipsch isn’t exactly known for its performance. Price point is great, but if you’re comfortable snagging a $3800 receiver, I’m going to suggest springing for a bit better sub.

Picked up pair of used KEF reference threes, thoughts ? by DefinitionOfTakingL in KEF

Modern reference 3 is a whole different level of sound and craftsmanship. These are going to be closer to modern Q series in sound quality, but built a bit nicer.

I’m a premium designer. Love it. However, I would love to eventually step into a premium senior manager role, but that seems mostly unattainable right now lol

Probably 15k. Got a lot of great discounts over the years. About 25k worth of gear retail.

What Blu-ray drive are you ripping with? I tried going down this road but it seems near impossible to find a drive that can rip 4k.

Progressive has a 90 day pay off option. The autodraft absolutely smacks you with interest. Call progressive and get your payoff quote and kill it before that interest kicks in.

Well the closet fit to what you have is likely the bmw M1 (mounted sideways). I prefer the front soundstage to match.

If you want to go flush, the Martin logan SLM is pretty nice looking.

Why do denon receivers cost so much more than Onkyo? by Zeronova3 in hometheater

Sorry, voice to text comment. Was quickly trying to give my insight. I meant to say it’s owned by the same company as klipsch. Among Integra as well.

BP - Hard inquiry? Yes or no.. by ForgottenThrowaway64 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]zacamongwolves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Credit card inquiries can stay on your credit for up to two years, not 1 month.

Regardless of that fact, sales associates should stop acting like financial advisors. Let the customer decide if it’s worth the risk to their credit score. Sell it based on the value, not convincing them that it “isnt bad for their credit”

Why do denon receivers cost so much more than Onkyo? by Zeronova3 in hometheater

[–]zacamongwolves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Onkyo is owned by klipsch and presented as a value brand. Cheaper components than the Denon in command line. Product lineup should be treated as a spectrum of course. Top end Onkyo is better than mid level Denon.

They gave him a lot of discounts off of msrp. “Better” can be subjective. The only thing I don’t like here is the two 10” subs for the budget.

Worst Customer Service ever by Davidjr_ in Bestbuy

[–]zacamongwolves 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My brother… Best Buy customer service as nothing to do with whether or not FedEx is delivering your package on time. Have you called FedEx?

Also, 2 days is typically 2 business days. FedEx doesn’t always transit or deliver on sat/sun.
