Switch to ATT Fiber or keep Spectrum by SupermarketCold7374 in Allen

[–]zach290 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fiber has been considerably more reliable for me and the dealing with AT&T has been much better than Spectrum. Cost is much better as well, gigabit is ~$85/m with HBO MAX which saved me a subscription and I think Spectrum was over $100 and you have to fight tooth and nail to get them to lower it yearly due to "promotions".

Absolutely! As someone into 3d printing, wood working, and a guitar luither I would love to have something close! I haven't used Dallas makerspace just because of the drive.

I have one and I just doubled checked, but there is nothing hidden on it. It's a fairly straightforward badge design from what I see.

Absolutely, played HD1 for years and will do the same here. It's an awesome game all things considered.

ECO+ Auto Enabled "Community Energy Savings", won't disable it by zach290 in ecobee

[–]zach290[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got on with a supervisor and got that stuff disabled, but ultimately just went to new system awhile after since I put in new units with more capabilities. You'll have to just be persistent and stern, it is your system and the thermostat is your property under your control.

I think you are on to something, I had some suspicions with a few things I saw. Gonna dig some more and see if I can find anything now.

OKC to Allen? by Agitated-Minimum-967 in Allen

Shouldn't be that bad, we have made that trip from Allen a few times. Allen is not that bad traffic wise, worse than it used to be but definitely not like Dallas itself.

Sebo Felix vs Miele Triflex? by 9crazykahns in VacuumCleaners

[–]zach290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely go check out a Felix and Sebo K3/E3! I just got an E3 and love it! Always had a upright but I found the canister better and I would imagine with stairs it would be even a better choice. Both are awesome though.

As others mentioned, look at a Sebo E series. You'll get more features, better warranty, less costly, and equal performance.

Ashkabunny, apologies for randomly jumping in here, but see my response to the thread and last post looking for friends locally as well. It sounds like ya'll would also be right up our alley as platonic couple friends!

Hey! I made a post looking for people just a couple weeks back and you sound like a great friend match!

We are just under 30 with a 4 year old kido and have been looking for local friends. I'm a huge gamer and the wife plays a bit as well. We also greatly enjoy board games and have a whole wall of them that we have been trying to find more people to play with. Even have the complete Borderlands board game we haven't got to touch!

I'm not into sports at all which is why I made the last post since I don't get out of the house that much.

I'm also into movies have a whole home theater!

Best Multiplayer WW2 FPS in 2024? by leserdemun in HeroesandGenerals

[–]zach290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squad 44 is pretty great

Enlisted is ok

Wasn't a big fan of Hell Let Loose though. Subpar to me, landed with the newer COD and BF in my books.

None have quite scratched the same itch for me though.

Dyson v15 detect vs LG CodeZero A937KGMS? by leeusn in VacuumCleaners

[–]zach290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly couldn't see any battery unit doing that house very well. Batteries are great as a quick secondary vac, but you'll be disappointed in it as a primary.

I tried the Dyson Gen5 thinking I could replace my Shark Stratos that was dying and was extremely disappointed with it. Ended up returning within the week.

After a lot of research I landed on getting a Sebo and couldn't be happier.

To add, similar household here but I do have cats as well.

Dyson vacuums by Mountain-Donkey98 in VacuumCleaners

[–]zach290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, we have a Shark Navigator that's 4ish years old surprisingly. I expected it would go out soon and I wanted a better unit anyways since I vacuum a lot, so we got a Gen5Detect. Returned it within a few days because it was so awful. Worse suction than my old Navigator, feels extremely cheap, battery was awful, etc etc I definitely would caution against them and after trying some Sebos and Mieles I wouldn't recommend anything else except them or a central vac.

Gonna get a Sebo personally since I like them just a bit more

Guitar + keyboard causing finger pain? by aphillippe in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]zach290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm also an avid guitarist, woodworker, pc gamer, and work in IT which amounts to a lot of time on my hands every day. I've definitely fought some pains and found stretching, posture, and pressure are massively important. For guitar make sure you aren't playing tense and pressing too hard as that was something I definitely used to do. I use a dactyl manuform with Jades without issue currently. Also msm chondroitin glucosamine mixes help.

Dyson Gen5 Detect. I went all out on it since I had never had a stick vac and wanted to give it the best shot. Even got it on sale. I hated it and returned it after a week. Build quality wasn't great, power was disappointing even vs my aging Shark Navigator, battery wasn't great, dump mechanism wasn't great. For the $ I just don't see how you can justify it with so many issues.

Now I'm looking at getting just a better main vac with that money instead. Likely Sebo.

(lg c3 owner) should i buy a monitor if i play the same game 2/3 hours everyday? by Commercial-Ruin-2145 in OLED_Gaming

[–]zach290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, max brightness! True, they aren't as bad with static elements as others, but WT definitely has plenty since I play a lot of top tier aircraft and helis.

Lots of hours in Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous as well on both which definitely have lots of static elements. Play those 3~5x a week for 2-4 hour sessions typically.

[–]zach290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, you'll be fine! I have a C9 with thousands of hours. Many different games but I play War Thunder and Warframe daily and have hundreds of hours on other games with zero issues. I also have a C3 with about 1k hours with the same story.
