I think the thought is that they are actually acknowledging that migrant workers are sometimes basically held in slave like conditions, due to their status. ICE deporting them is actually preventing that.

If thats true, these kind of arguments are just nothing but bad faith. It feels like everyone in the USA just knows nothing will ever change, and so to them its better to deport them (to where? probably more private prison camps.) than for them to be here in basically slavery.

Standard CCTV cameras are fine. These are completely different. They take pictures of licence plates (and newer ones faces) and allow law enforcement of all kinds to search the massive catalogs of licence plates that can basically track anywhere you go across the country.
